…cars. The Turf Nationals always draws in some amazing talent from around the area and this year was no exception. Even with so much talent gathered at one track, the “chill” vibe is what makes Turf Nationals extra unique and one of the most fun races to attend. The friendly, warm atmosphere in the pits makes the time away off the track a whole lot of fun and when the sun is out – it’s just absolutely a show-stopping amazing experience. …Top Qualifier Simon Kurzbuch until the newly crowned champion flew off the track on the entry to the straight. Unfortunately while the Shepherd driver survived the impact, his race would come to a premature end as he succumbed to gearbox issues eventually calling it a day at the half hour mark. Behind the two white Infinitys, only 6/10th off Raiola, Merlin Depta would take his Serpent to the final step on the podium ahead of team-mate Dominic Greiner with ARC’s John Ermen completing the Top 5 in Ettlingen. …the Swiss ace. Raiola’s team-mate Dario Balestri would push Kurzbuch hard in Q4 heading his rival a number of times before traffic ended the Italian’s chances. Ending up tied on points, Raiola’s Q1 TQ run gives him second over his Infinity team-mate who will start third. Winner of the season opener in Italy, Dominic Greiner will start the scheduled 45-minute final from P4 with Serpent’s new 989 ahead of the ARC of former ENS race winner John Ermen with Jeffrey Rietveld completing the top half of the grid. …it by the virtue of having the faster time, just 0.22 second ahead of Chris Gunter with Zak Finlay just a further 0.27 sec further back. The finals saw James drive excellent controlled races to take victories in both legs by the smallest of margins, this was enough to give James, like Olly, the overall BRCA National Title in Stock. Zak and Marcus jumped Chris in the finals with Zak taking 2nd and Marcus 3rd, making it a Schumacher top 3 in the Stock class. Zak was runner up in the Championship making it a Schumacher 1-2. …held at the Robin Hood Raceway in the UK this past weekend, attracting some of Europe’s fastest 1/10th off-road racers. Schumacher’s Michael Orlowski would take the overall TQ in 2WD Modified Buggy and he also came out on top in A2 and A3 after scoring a 4th place finish in the reverse grid A1. Team Associated’s Neil Cragg took 4-2-2 finishes for the overall runner-up spot from Greg Williams in 3rd with 9-3-3 runs. 4WD Modified Buggy again had Michal scathing the overall TQ and win from Neil as Allan O Brien (Schumacher) came in 3rd overall. …4. In the opening two qualifiers Tim and Kai took the top 2 spots followed by Dirk Elsebusch and Reinder Wilms. Tobias, with DNFs in Q1 and Q3 scored a round TQ in the third qualifier from Timo and Tim. The fourth and fifth qualifier also went to Tobias who won the tie-breaker with Tim. Timo took P3 on the grid, again in a tie-breaker, leaving behind Kai in 4th. The penultimate round of the 2019 Czech Open series was held in Horni Jeleni last weekend. Following free practice on Friday, the race started on the Saturday morning with qualifying. Xray driver Max Gotzl was able to take the overall TQ in both Nitro and EP classes, after winning all 4 qualifying rounds. Jiri Mara and Tomas Kapicka took 2nd and 3rd in the Nitro class, with Marek Ornst and Jiri Dvorak took 2nd and 3rd with E buggy.
