Swauger was making a comeback on the other cars, but Apolaro was able to maintain the 2 lap lead the entire time. The 3rd leg of the South African national championship was held at the KMR Track in Gauteng on the same brutal track that hosted the 2002 Worlds. The race was the perfect mid year event to test the local drivers’ skills and patience with the track being very unforgiving and every mistake got punished. Jason Hillcoat who made the change to Xray a few months back was unstoppable in Modified, his flawless precision driving was amazing to watch. The 6th round of the British 1/10 200mm Championship was held last weekend at the excellent Mendip track in Weston-Super-Mare. The Weather was superb for the entire weekend with temperatures over 30 degrees. There was very little grip to start with but this slowly improved during Saturday’s practice. Joe Kerry set the fastest time with his Serpent, with team mate Mark Green just one tenth behind.
