The second race of the Belgian SCT Cup season was held last Sunday on the famous “Beach” track of the RC Electro Liège club. A great technical layout makes this track one of the best in Belgium. Rhythm is very important to get a good pace over here and during the day, a sort of slippy blue groove appeared on the racing line. Hot Race Tyres have added to their line of onroad tires by producing a line of touring car rubber tires. After a lot of test with experienced racers they were able to find the right compound for maximum performance. There will be two different shores, 32 and 36, two different inserts, soft and medium, and two different weights, light and normal. …Alipon. Associated racer Mike Ang along with a very determined Jayson Chua earned their way into the Final after securing their well-deserved bump-ups to round out the top 12 spots. The 45 minute race would be a gruelling test of nerves for all. From the horn Daniel Sarmiento had a great start and took the holeshot. He began to stretch out a good lead and it seemed like it was now just a question of who would be standing at the podium for 2nd and 3rd. Amazingly, the names Shania Yulo and Daniel Miranda were in 2nd & 3rd respectively….

…is home to many of the smaller 1/12th-producing companies – an excellent opportunity for them to attend that section of the event and again promote their product. During the late bidding stages, we had heard that plans were in place to hold the 1/12th section of the event on carpet, with the Touring Car section on tarmac. However, following the announcement of the host venue, we then heard from the track that the 1/12th championships would also be held on the tarmac track. Is that really a good move? …one day race pulled over 120 entries. While speaking with those around the pits the tyre of choice for the weekend seemed to be a Pro-Line Racing Blockade, in the M3 compound. When asked why drivers usually responded with something along the lines of they liked its long wear on the abrasive surface, how well it performed and that it was super forgiving and easy to drive.
