2019 RC-Lemans Series Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the 2019 RC-Lemans Series was held as a joint event together with the first International Foam Race IFR at the MAC de Baanbrekers club in Rucphen, The Netherlands. The weather forecast saw wet and windy conditions, however the weekend kicked off with dry weather on Friday and parts of Saturday. The opening qualifier for the 1/8th Electric Stock and Pro10 Modified, Stock and Super Stock classes was also held in dry conditions, however things went down from there. The 1/8th Stock class saw Adrien Viallet taking the opening qualifier from the Smits brothers, Martijn and Jeroen….

Max Götzl sweeps SMRC club race

The Austrian SMRC club held a club race last weekend. The event saw a somewhat different race format with only two qualifiers, 20 minutes long for the 2WD class while the 4WD and Truck qualifiers were held over ten minutes. The final grid was decided by the best three consecutive laps. Max Götzl took the TQ in all three classes with the 2WD top 3 being made up by Martin Fischer and Manfred Resch while Antonia Kovalzski and Roland Hauleitner came in 2nd and 3rd respectively in the 4WD class. BRCA 1/10th IC Circuit Nationals Rd1 – Report

…well deserved win from 7th on the grid in front of Philip Edward’s with Barry Abbott taking the final podium position in the closing stages of the race. GT8 would start in dry conditions, and would see Glyn Beal taking the lead early on and never looking back. Craig Woods progressed up the field to take 2nd with Jason Fox rounding out the top 3 respectively. Apandi wins Urban Astro Buggy Champs Rd2

Round 2 of the Urban Astro Buggy Championship offroad racing series took place over this past weekend at Urban PlaySpace in Singapore. While it was a small grid this round, it was a quality field as most of the top contenders were all in action. Round 1 winner, Sean Lee, was looking to cement his lead in the championship, and things were looking good for this young phenom as he secured TQ in the first two of the four rounds of qualifying. In round 3, Esmail Apandi took a 2-seconds win to TQ the round and setup a TQ showdown…

Asian Nitro Championship Rd2 – Report

…first lap with the rest of the field in tow. Positions would for the most part remain the same in the first few minutes of the race until a racing incident on lap 24 would damage Wade Lobley’s car beyond repair and would knock him out of the race indefinitely. With ten minutes to go, three cars in total would retire from the race, which unfortunately included England Park Raceway legend, Trevor Kerr who had to retire his car back on lap 43. Never count a legend out! Kerr’s mechanic managed repair his car and he was able to rejoin…

Speed King Tour Rd2 – Report

The second round of the 2019 Speed King Tour took place at the RC Stadium track in Sodegaura. The event was held in the regular Touring Modified, Touring Stock and Oval classes and a new qualifying system was in introduced for this year: only the top 5 qualifiers from the three qualifying rounds would directly proceed to the A-main with these five would also have a Super Lap race to determine the overall pole position. The A-main would be filled up with the three fastest B-main finishers plus the two fastest drivers from the lower mains. Yokomo driver Hayato Ishioka…

Leo Arnold claims his first ENS pole position

…Groskamp will start directly behind the French man tomorrow with Alessio Mazzeo, Eduardo Escandon and Teemu Leino completing the top half of the grid. ‘My first TQ, I am very happy, the hard work pays off’ was how Leo described his qualifying, continuing ‘my car is easy for the final, if I want to push I can push’. With his father checking over the tires from qualifying, they will make a final decision on tire strategy once they have all the data, no changes to his NT1 planned.
