With the biggest entry of the day it was the 2WD buggies, it was a hotly contested affair with very quick guys in the top 2 heats, and eventual pole sitter Jody Howard with his fresh Schumacher KC Laydown getting the pole from the second tier heat whilst trading places and times all race long with the yokomo YZ-2 of George Fairweather. Round 3 of the 2019 Urban Touring Series took place this past Sunday at Urban’s rooftop PlaySpace raceway. Despite forecasts of rain, an enthusiastic grid of close to 30 racers turned up to pit themselves against one another in the Touring Car 17.5T Blinky and Formula classes. In the TC Class, it was Nicholas Lee who would take overall TQ by topping Q1 and Q2. Dominic Quek would have to settle for a P2 start in the A-Main. The third round of the 2019 Yokomo Australian Touring Series was held over the weekend at the New South Wales Radio Controlled Racing Car Club (NSWRCRCC) in Moorebank, New South Wales. Set at the beautiful John Grant International Raceway, host venue the IFMAR 1/8 IC Track World Championship back in 2001, the Moorebank facility was the perfect place to host the ATS. Congrats to the Independent drivers for coming out and participating in this year’s NW Carpet Nationals. Thanks to the Novice group of racers that were in attendance at round 2 of the JConcepts NCTS. The opening round of the Belgian Electric On-road Nationals was held this past weekend at the Lovan indoor track in Alveringem. The club provided the racers with a challenging, quite grippy track and a large pit area for lots of fun on and off the track. The classes remained the same for 2019 with Formula using the Scorpion speed and motor combination, Stock 13.5 uses the proven Muchmore combo and the new Fun 17.5 class utilises a spec motor provided by T2M. For the 31st year in a row the April Fools Classic was held in Salt Lake City, Utah. The historic event is one of the longest-running races in the nation and continues to bring racers from all over the country to the “Greatest Dirt on Earth”. In 2WD Modified it was Team Associated’s Broc Champlin who took home the win from the 3 spot on the grid.
