Marka Racing Trophy Rd2 – Report

The second round of this year’s Marka Racing Trophy was held at the La Valletta track in Varese, Italy. In Touring Stock 13.5 Luca Pelagotti (Schumacher) had to fend off the attacks of Nik Di Palma (Awesomatix) in the opening A-main final. Fascinating and with great sportsmanship it was Pelagotti with the 2nd place as Di Palma was able to pass him ultimately. In the second final Pelagotti managed to maintain the 1st position until the end while behind him it was Davide Gianuzzi (Awesomatix) who recovered from the 4th starting position. The third final saw a masterpiece of Gianuzzi, who started very well to gain one position after another until he got close to Pelagotti and ultimately got past. When the dust had settled Gianuzzi took the overall win from Pelagotti in 2nd and Di Palma in 3rd position.

ZooRacing Zoodiac 190mm GT body shell

The Zoodiac GT body shell for 190mm touring cars is ZooRacing’s latest high performance 1/10th scale on-road body shell and the brand’s first go on the popular GT market. The goal was to create a stylish yet efficient body with advanced aerodynamics while still offering a somewhat scale look to ensure the body meets all current GT/USGT class rules. The lid features a low-slung silhouette to which sports sculptured fender sections that give plenty of room even for larger GT class tyres while the low-profile front hood section optimises the airflow around the fenders and towards the huge windscreen. The latter is designed to offer a slight cab forward design for best possible airflow towards the rear trunk section and rear wing. Going towards the rear of the body, the newly designed side pods not only add to the overall structure of the shell, they also add visual impact and help to balance the overall downforce by offering a slight upwards sweep. The somewhat simple rear trunk lid design helps with undisturbed airflow towards the rear wing, that was designed to meet all GT class rules. The wing is moulded with two cut lines, a standard 10mm section and a taller “outlaw” marking for increased downforce.

Neumann wins but Coelho is EOS Champion

Joern Neumann has made it back to back wins in the EOS taking the 4WD win today in Austria in A2, but the biggest prize goes to Bruno Coelho as he wraps up the season with the 4WD Championship title.  Having taken the TQ and then the A1 win after an exciting battle with Coelho, Neumann had a much easier A2 after an early mistake from the number 2 starter that effectively dropped him to last.  With Coelho out of the equation, Neumann was chased by his team-mate Michal Orlowski.  Needing to win today to retain his 4WD title, a mistake from the 2WD Champion on the penultimate lap allowed Neumann to cruise to the finish for the overall win on the championship’s first visit ERT Steyregg.  The result also meant that irrespective of the A3 outcome, Coelho was champion again for a third time and Orlowski’s quest for a repeat title double where over.  With a rain shower that arrived during the third B-Main delaying A3, the astro surface meaning the track was ready to go back racing once the rain had passed, Coelho went on to cap off his title winning season with the win over Orlowski.  Overall this meant Coelho split the Schumacher drivers to claim 2nd on the podium.
