The opening round of Norwegian 1/10th Buggy Nationals was hosted by the KMBK club, located in Grimstad in the south of Norway. The track wasn’t huge but hospitality was, which made for a great weekend thanks to the professional club. The weekend kicked off with free practice on Friday and with the track layout being unchanged for some time, things would be very tight especially in the main 4WD class as most of the club’s members race in the ultra-fast wheeler category. Fast local driver Gisle Brøvig is a very strong driver and the biggest local hope for the race….

…first 1/10th race and showed smooth lines all day. The A-main started and immediately Milan and Julius separated themselves from the field. Although Julius tried, he missed a tenth a lap to keep pace with Milan and needed an extra fuel stop. When Julius also hit problems with the transmission, it would turn out to be an easy tone to tone win for Milan. Jurmin drove a steady race to take the runner-up spot with Thomas van Duin taking 3rd. The opening round of the Greek 1/10th scale nitro championship was held at the Fanatix Racing Track in Athens. After five rounds of qualifying, Vasilis Lykaris managed to grab the pole position for the main final but he would crash in the warm-up laps and asked for some extra time which dropped him back to 13th position on the starting grid. On the opening lap Lykaris jumped into 4th position behind Papachristos, followed by Lekkas (5th), Karabelas (6th) and Kostas Sidiropoulos on the 7th spot. Trackside Hobbies and Raceway of Brookfield, Wisconsin, held the U.S. Buggy Championship this past weekend. The event attracted nearly 190 entries and in the 13.5T Wheeler class it was Andrew Knapp with the overall TQ. In the single 10-minute A-main event it was again Andrew who would be in control of things, taking the win some two laps in front of Kyle Holberg and Matt Wilbert. Freddy Sudhoff put in a dominant performance in the opening A-Main this morning at Round 3 of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series. Starting from a career first TQ, the Awesomatix driver immediately pulled clear of the field in the cold conditions helped by a slow starting Ronald Volker from second on the grid who stacked the field up behind him. Marc Rheinard would be the only one to find away passed the Yokomo, driving around the outside of his fellow countryman. Freddy Sudhoff is the Top Qualifier at Round 3 of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Spain. The Awesomatix driver claimed both his and his team’s first ever ETS TQ when he topped Q2 this evening in Madrid. With bad weather causing qualifying at the Asoger RC track to be reduced to just two rounds, Sudhoff would take advantage of improved track conditions to top the Q1 TQ time of Ronald Volker by seven & a half seconds. …will start from 4th on the grid, just ahead of top Hong Kong driver Kenrick Fong. Speaking to Akio following the race he said ‘big gamble’ referring to his saving tires in this morning’s first two rounds of qualifying. Using his tires from Q3 in Q4 he said the car was really good on used tires, while according to those that ran new tires in the final round, they were difficult to drive at the start with little feeling.
