Óscar Cabezas wins Spanish Nationals Rd2

The second round of Spanish 1/8 On-Road Nationals was held at the Elche track near Alicante managed by Club Carsol. It was a hard race, with temperatures over 35ºC, 50ºC on the asphalt and a high relative humidity making it a hard test for engines and fuel. The Elche track is small, but really fast and so lap times are just about 12 seconds. Oscar Cabezas (Motonica / Novarossi / Merlin Fuel) TQ’d and set a new track record. After winning the semi-final, Cabezas kept the first place during almost 30 minutes, closely followed by Sergio Montensinos, who managed to…

Adrian Berntsen dominates Rd1 in Norway

The opening round of the Norwegian 1/10th scale 200mm Nationals took place last weekend and Adrian Bernsten sent us this report. After been doing some testing with my new Capricorn LAB C02 I was ready and looking forward for my first race in Norway for this outdoor season. This first round of the Norwegian national series was held at Geiteryggen racetrack in Skien and saw 19 drivers attending. The track had pretty low traction and was very bumpy so it was important to be fully concentrated on the driving throughout the whole runs. The track conditions were also changing a…

Rick V takes Rd2 in Dutch Nationals

The 2nd round of the Dutch Nationals was held on Belgian soil at the beautiful track of Model Racing Genk. This is the first time ever that the Dutch competition is running on this track just over the border. Because this track is also the homebase of some Belgium drivers they would have an advantage. On the Friday many people took the chance to run their first laps on this low grip track with only a very small gripline. The Saturday was wet and cold, and only at the end of the day it became dry and some laps were…

Mark Green wins BRCA 1/8th round 2

…starting to make a massive impact on proceedings was young Alex Thurston who was showing a very consistent pace and driver skill. After round 1, he was in 6th position just behind the Hastings duo, and then he improved throughout the day to become a major threat at the top of the time sheets. Round 2, and the top of the leader board did not change very much since the track started to dry out which made the track very slippery. Round 3 witnessed considerable improvements for Alex Thurston (15 Laps 307 secs) and Mike Walton (15 laps 312 secs)….

Víctor Peláez wins Spanish 200mm Champs Rd2

The second round of the Spanish 200mm National Championship was held in Gijón, with the weather forecast expecting rain for all the three days. This meant that all drivers had to adapt both their cars and their driving skills to all kind of situations, foreseeing that all qualifiers and all finals will be completely different one to another. Friday was useless, with the track completely wet there was no point on risking the car in free practice. Without being able to test one single minute, qualifiers started and as it was predicted they weren’t going to be easy at all….
