Ermen join growing FlySky team

1:8 Nitro Onroad stalwart John Ermen is the latest of a growing list of high profile team of drivers to sign with radio brand Flysky RCThe Dutch drivers joins Marc Rheinard, Ryan Maifield and David Ronnefalk in using the company’s range topping Noble Pro transmitter.  One of the great characters of international nitro onroad racing, Ermen said on the announcement, “I’m very happy to join the Flysky 1/8th on-road team.  The Flysky Noble Pro is truly one of the most sophisticated transmitters I have ever used. I’ve been racing for over 30 years and have used a lot of brands during these years.  Whenever you switch to a new brand, you must get used to the radio and its menu structure. However, with the Noble Pro, it felt like I had been using this transmitter for years.  The touchscreen and smartphone-like menu structure will feel like home right from the beginning. The radio is made from high-quality aluminium casing with an extra power bank for long-lasting fun! If you prefer a super-light radio, you can simply remove the power bank.  In my opinion, this radio is a real pro tip!”

Serpent Viper 990 Evo 1:8 GP

One of the pioneers of the category, Serpent has released its latest 1:8 Onroad Nitro chassis the Viper 990 EVO.  The gets an number of new features and improves starting with new “flex shock mounts”,  which offer the possibility to add more flex by removing the connecting carbon brackets.  It is also now possible to change the shock angle on the inner mounting position in small 1mm steps  Another improvement has come from the new bumper.  It is an aerodynamic improvement, but at the same time it gives more support to the bodyshell and also is a lot more resistant to bending. All of that comes with a reduced weight by almost 10grams.  The EVO also features a revised fuel tank, allowing more clearance with the carburettor, and also allowing to raise the tank as desired. The new shape of the tank is accompanied by a revised topdeck.  New front arms feature a carbon downstop lever which gives a much more accurate and consistent downstop setting, a very important part of the car’s setup.  The other key feature of the new kit is a redesigned front one-way.  A modified front one-way shaft allows a more narrow setting than in the past with a front narrow track width is important to be able to achieve on most tracks nowadays.
