But the competitors have joined for racing and not for hanging around and so the mood turned into gloom and frustration at the end. Nevertheless, the German Nationals were attended by 88 racers, 44 each in class 1 and class 2. That means the highest number of competitors since a couple of years. The event continues its traditional 2wd Open and 4wd Open class along with the Invitational 2wd/4wd format. To allow everyone an opportunity to be a part of this historic event, a lottery drawing will be conducted on October 21st with the first 200 open class entries selected securing a place in the event. Round 3 of the Short Course Showdown Nation Wide Tour was held at West Coast RC. Racers from California, Nevada, Arizona and Florida attended to enjoy the fun that is Short Course racing. The SC Showdown is all about the fun that SC racing has brought to the hobby. The race program is run different than most normal races as we run heads up racing in the qualifiers and do bump ups in all classes for the mains. …impossible for UK drivers to complete 5 mins and therefore a stop for fuel on fast circuits is now generally the case by the top drivers. Sunday, started with a dry track for free practice but it soon rained which prevented any representative times being set until round 3, when the track became fully dry. The Scottish round of the 2011 Much-More UK GP took place last weekend under superb sunny weather conditions for the whole weekend. John Simpson (Xray) who did not make the English round of the GP, took the Pro-Stock title for the Stonehaven round whilst team mate, Gareth Hunt took the title of ‘Much-More UK GP Champion’ by improving on 4th place at the Carlisle round with some consistent driving and a 2nd place at the Stonehaven round.
