Mackie takes South Australian State Title

ARC driver Jeffrey Mackie is the 2023 Speedy RC South Australian State Titles Champion for Modified Touring Car.  Racing at the Radio Racing Cars SA track in Littlehampton, which is located half an hour from Adelaide City, Mackie was in dominant form taking all five rounds of qualifying to secure the overall TQ from the Awesomatix pairing of Damon Davis-Perry and Jordan Hunting.  In the finals, A1 would see Davis-Perry pile the pressure on the Top Qualifier but Mackie managed to keep him at bay as the pair crossed the line separated by 0.566 of a second.  A2 saw a more convincing win from the Sydney driver, the winning margin 3.7-second which secured him the overall title that he celebrated with the clean sweep by also winning A3.  Managing P2 in the third encounter after bad luck saw him qualify P4, Team Yokomo’s Antoni Caretti would complete the overall podium behind Davis-Perry.  In Pro Stock, Rhys Marshall took the title for Awesomatix ahead of Top Qualifier Richard Groncki with Jordan Isergin third.

Iris ONE.05 Competition Touring Car

In addition to unveiling its first FWD 1:10 Electric Touring Car, Iris has simultaneously released the ONE.05 4WD Touring Car on which the front wheel drive is based.  The ONE.05 touring car is the second generation competition car kit that has been designed and developed entirely by Ruddog.  Based on feedback from customers and team drivers, the German manufacturer has improved several areas of the original Iris ONE.  While the ONE.05 is still based on the same concept as the ONE and uses most of the same drivetrain and plastic parts, it features several improvements to make the car faster and more durable.  It now has an updated and optimised shock linkage and a carbon fibre rocker arm that reduces roll when cornering.  New chassis locating pins on the bulkheads, motor mount and damper cases not only improve durability, but have also allowed us to redesign these parts and make them lighter, saving over 25g in total.  It still features an ultra-narrow bulkhead design and the efficient three-belt design for perfect weight balance and less belt tension compared to a two-belt design.  Many unique details, such as an optional direct mount aluminium fan, have been incorporated into the design of the Iris ONE.05 to give you an edge over the competition.
