JConcepts S2 Body for CAT L1R

JConcepts has introduced the S2 body for Schumacher’s popular CAT L1R 4WD chassis.  The new shell has some familiar features but rolled together with a low-profile stance.  With 2015 IFMAR Championship credibility backing this design, the S2 includes the Carpet/Turf/Dirt rear wing to help deliver results on any racing circuit.  Slammed overall height allows the S2 to whisk through the turns with a low centre of mass while the progressive cab design provides plenty of front-end force for superior balance and steering.  A channeled roof directs the flow through the centre of the body while also increasing the rigidity of cockpit.  The dual side-window design that has become famous on the JConcepts bodies remains to bring a traditional feel to the layout.

PDX RC Underground has announced it will be hosting the inaugural Hobbywing Stock Spec Nationals.  The unique event will see all classes use handout Hobbywing Justock fixed timing motors.  The brainchild of this event, and the owner of PDX Underground Kevin Focht explains, “We started running 17.5 spec at the track, and I was thinking that there has never been a national event where everyone was running a handout motor. The thought of having everyone going the same speed intrigued me, and I thought it would be a true racers event. I immediately hit up Hobbywing, and they were excitedly on board!”  There will only be 4 classes for the event – 17.5 Buggy, 13.5 4wd Buggy, 13.5 Stadium Truck and 13.5 Short Course Truck.  All will be using handout Hobbywing Justock motors. Esc’s will be blinky and all other ROAR rules apply. STRC TRX-4M Alu Front Steering Servo Mount

ST Racing Concepts has released this Front Steering Servo Mount for the Traxxas TRX-4M 1:18 Crawler. The new CNC machined Aluminium mount reduces the flex and improves the power of your steering on your crawler. A lot of the steering power from the servo on the TRX-4M is lost due to the flexing of the stock plastic servo mount and the bending of the steering link. The STRC high quality mount completely locks the steering servo in place and allows maximum transfer of power from the servo to the steering linkage. Available now in black, gun metal, orange, red and silver anodising.

Round 4 of the EssexCarpetClash was the first round of the series to run in 2023 with racers eager to get back on the track.  Racers were greeted to another fun layout, this time a little more technical, with a jump section catching a few people out.  After one round of practice drivers faced into 4 rounds of qualifying, with their best 2 to count.  Ed Kerry, managed to secure the TQ for the 2WD A-Main having topped the sheets for 3 rounds with his Serpent.  Kyle Moon was able to secure 2nd on the grip with his Willspeed machine after having PT troubles in the 1st round.  Christopher Delves driving his TLR managed to have a better count back score and line-up ahead Willspeed driver Demetri Panayides.  After 3 legs of finals Kerry managed to convert his pole in to the over all win, winning both the 1st and 3rd leg.  He didn’t make it easy for himself after making an error in leg 2 meaning it was all to play for in the 3rd, after Moon managed to also have a win in the 2nd leg.  Moon would take 2nd overall, using his win as the better counting score ahead of a fast Matthew Peters who were joint on points.
