Serpent have released three CAD images of their latest attempt to enter the competitive 1:8 Off Road market. One of the key players in the nitro onroad competition market, they give little details about the buggy itself, currently known as the S8xx, but instead have included the first of a four part interview with the car’s designer Billy Easton. The 2009 Factory Tracks Midwest Series (FTMS) just finished and Team Orion Factory Driver Al Horne has won both the 2wd and 4wd Modified Championships. This summer the FTMS visited 5 different tracks to test the skills of the drivers in the Midwest and out of the 5 races, 4 would count for points in the overall championship. In the 2wd Modified Class, Al TQ’ed 4 rounds of the series with his Team Orion powered Kyosho RB5-SP. He then went onto win 3 of the rounds and finishing 2nd at the other. Novarossi and Racing Experience have welcomed Stéphane Deroch to their team. The experienced French driver chose Novarossi engines to power his MP9/AKA combination following some test sessions with Racing Experience’s Bernard Durand in the South of France. Last weekend’s Thanksgiving Bash took place at CRCRC Raceway in Columbus, Ohio. CRCRC boasts some of the toughest competition in the Mid West, with factory drivers from Associated, Kyosho, X-Factory and Losi in attendance, and so this was a great test for TQ Racing’s new SX102W buggy.
