Wischnewski, Guensel & Kroeber top timesheets at German Nats

…with 39,324 seconds in front of Guensel with 39,691 and Kroeber with 39,915: Fourth position went to Michael Salven with 40,002 seconds for three laps with his Serpent 733. Behind Ralf Krause (Xray/40,008), René Puepke ( 40,128) was the quickest Mugen racer on sixth position. The top 10 were completed by Eric Dankel (Xray), Kai-Oliver Guttschau (Serpent), Karl-Heinz Meister (Serpent) and Christian Wimbverger (Xray). Patrick Schaefer, a non-regular driver in 1/10, achieved 15th position with his new Shepherd Velox V10. Mark Green wins BRCA 1/8th Rd7

…back home, this allowed for a small advantage to be gained for all the other competitors. A 10 minute controlled practice session was provided on Sunday morning to check your car and see if any overnight changes made any major performance improvements. In Round 1, Mark Green was again in awesome form but made a mistake to allow his team mate Tim Wood to snatch Pole with Andy North a close second. Jilles Groskamp joins Team Shepherd

…improve things. They are still some kind of a “newcomer” in the nitro scene but the Velox V8 is already established all over the world. I could already test it and I was really impressed. Probably the V10 project will be even more fun for myself as I feel better with a 1/10 touring car. With all the fast improvements they can realize I can test a lot of different things and get ready for the big races. With only a month to go until the first round, the class has seen a lot of popularity already this year. Zac Ryan wins 2009 African Cup GP

The annual African Cup was held recently in SA with the host track being completed only a week before the event, ensuring that the local competitors didnt have any home track advantage. As usual practice was Thursday and Friday afternoon only with qualifiers on the Saturday and finals on the Sunday. This year Zac Ryan and Craig Laughton from Australia joined a total of 75 local drivers to test their racing talents against others in gas Buggy, Truggy and Monster truck classes. 2009 ROAR Region 4 Championships

…the jumps and compact the loamy or bumpy areas. Sunday morning would provide the true test as the dirt was still wet and during the longer mains the track and jump faces typically get worn in crucial areas. During the first several mains the track remained in great condition and the drivers began bumping along trying to earn their way into the A-mains.
