Exotek ‘GTF’ 1:10 USGT/GT Body

New from Exotek is its new 1:10 GTF ‘retro’ bodyshell for the highly competitive USGT/GT classes.  Based on a classic European GT stunner it features an aggressive splitter, muscular fenders, low slung hood, downforce inducing side skirts, large rear deck and large windshield for maximum traction on lower grip race tracks.  It’s 194mm width allows you to run wider suspension or wheel hex set ups for increased corner speeds and less traction rolls.  Designed with ample tyre clearance in the wheel wells to mount the body low without rubbing the tyres.  A large wing and rear trunk deck provides maximum downforce on lower grip tracks.  The original long rear body work is perfect to help prevent body tucks.  Raised wing pedestals places the wing higher up into cleaner air.  The body is made of high quality 0.7mm polycarbonate that is a proprietary custom produced polycarbonate only for Exotek that is much stronger and longer lasting than other similar thickness polycarbonate.

Repetti to defend LS Touring Car Euros title from pole

European Large Scale Touring Car Champion Edoardo Repetti is to defend his title from pole position after the Mecatech driver secured the overall TQ in the Netherlands today.  Having held the overnight TQ after three rounds of qualifying as the fastest driver around the Real80 track, the final round of qualifying saw a further improvement from the Italian, who topped 4 of the 5 rounds.  Behind, MCD driver Dario Veseli would save the best for last to jump up to P2 in the final qualification ranking and book a direct spot into his first European Championship final.  Having struggled to find a set-up he was comfortable with, it came together for the Croatian driver in Q5 with him getting to within 2.1 seconds of Repetti’s time over the 10-minute heats.  Finishing up third fastest would be the Genius Racing of Rick Van der Bol with his time from Q4 with Hessel Roskam, the only driver to TQ a round when he was fastest in Q2, locking in P4 with his Q5 run. Both drivers will start on pole for their respective Semi-Finals which will determine the other 8-starters for the 30-min title decider.

MXLR A800R Front Body Support

MXLR has released this Front Body Support for the Awesomatix A800R to prevent deflection of the bodyshell under higher speeds.  With the trend of feather light bodyshells and even higher top speeds, deflection of bodyshells has became an issue with top racers.  The support also reduces the risk of cracking the front wheel arches of the bodyshell.  The result is an extended lifetime of your bodyshells combined with better performance on the track as the shell will stay in its original shape and produce more downforce.  The support is made of PA12 Nylon which is very durable and offers excellent tensile, abrasion and impact resistance.  In the design process MXLR took special care about the A800R front bulkhead design and the importance of “flex” in this area with the support designed to have the least flex influence possible.
