Compound supply issues force tyre change for TC Euros

EFRA has announced that compound supply issues have lead to a decision to change the official tyre that will be used by Modified class competitors at this year’s European Championships.   The 22nd running of the championship is scheduled for August 2-5 in Türkheim, Germany, but global supply issues that continue to effect all industries mean that rather than risk not having sufficient tyres for all drivers that a different tyre be nominated now.  In a statement EFRA said, “It is now apparent that the chosen tyre for the Modified 10th ISTC EC could be in short supply for the event.  “The reason is the total lack of a primary component to produce the compound which is unfortunately patented by only one company in the world which is experiencing big problems and has had to interrupt, hope momentarily, the production.  Since Production Capacities are limited, even if the compound will be available again, it is not sure when and if we will get enough tyres of the original type.” In order to ensure that entrants are able to buy tyres to practise freely and the suppliers are able to fulfil their supply obligations to the organisers a different tyre will be used. This will be the Matrix EPA-D36. This tyre is considered to be a suitable substitute and will not have the same supply issues. Chris Hardisty, Electric Track Chairman.”

MIBO Electric Bubble Puller

Czech brand MIBO has introduced the Electric Bubble Puller, a practical tool for every RC car racer.  It is designed to create a vacuum and pull all air bubbles from your damper or differential oil with a push of a button.  Just connect a power supply or battery and you are almost done.  With practicality in mind, 2 variants were selected to fit most racers. Even those, who race in more than just one class, can have just one vacuum pump.  Two variants of the Bubble Puller are available with one intended for 1:10 racers, both onroad and offroad, and a large version for offroad racers for both 1:10 and 1:8 use.  Both of them have a compact, quality design and reliable operation, which simplifies the process of removing air bubbles, making it quicker, easier and more effective.  Using an electric vacuum pump for removing air bubbles from RC car damper oil offers several advantages. It helps prevent foaming and cavitation, which can lead to unpredictable suspension behaviour and reduced damping effectiveness and also improves their performance and responsiveness.  The package also includes a quality case, ensuring the protection of the pump during transport and storage.

Serpent SRX8 GT optional 12/44 ratio

Serpent has released a new optional 12/44 ratio for their SRX8 1:8 GT Chassis.  Every year new engines are being developed as engine manufacturers squeeze more power or RPM out of a .21 sized nitro engine.  It could also be that more short tracks are running GT than ever before.  Either way, Serpent believe it is very important to keep up on what is happening in the market.  Their current SRX8 GT car has an internal ratio of 13/44, and it was great for a majority of conditions, however, times have changed and a larger range is needed.  Now Serpenr has made an optional ratio 12/44, creating a class specific ratio.  Although it seems like a minor change, the on track performance can be quite huge.  The outcome would be more acceleration with reduced load on the engine.  This will allow you to utilise different ratio splits, or even different fuel mixtures that can result in longer run times.
