Alien Racing Yokomo R12 conversion kit

Alien Racing have introduced a new conversion kit for the Yokomo R12 1/12th scale chassis which allows you to place the battery in longitudinally. The main chassis is 4mm longer and the central shock is now moved 12mm further forward. The rear body mounts have also been moved 4mm further forward to reduce the spacing between the front and rear posts. Other changes include the ability to remove the pack without removing the plates and due to the new layout the weight distribution between the left and right is improved.

Grainger takes BTCC title with Rd3 win

Round 3 of this years’ Schumacher BTCC Championship was held at the Halifax track, which was a miracle seeing only 7 days before it was under about 3 feet of water what a great job John and the committee have done to get the track into a condition where it could be used. The weather forecast for the day showed showers and at the drivers briefing it was decided that the format for the day would be 5 rounds of round by round qualifying the best 2 to count followed by 1 final.

Olivier Bultynck wins 2012 BeNeLux Open

The 2012 BeNeLux Open, which is the annual event at the Mac Baanbrekers track in Rucphen, Holland, was held last weekend. The qualifying was on Saturday with four runs with one qualifier on Sunday morning. The qualifying started with sunny conditions and there was a lot of grip at the track. It was Olivier Bultynck with his Yokomo who completely dominated qualifying in the Efra Modified Touring Class making 21 laps in 5:08 min. Thomas Stockman was the closest driver to the TQ man also with 21 laps. Nick Joosens, Patrick Jongenelis and Mitchel van Es completed the top 5.

Søren Boy Holst wins Rd3 in Denmark

This past weekend the 3rd round of the Danish National Championships were arranged by the BRCC club, just outside Copenhagen. The weather had been tricky with a lot of rain Friday, lots of sun Saturday, and mixed conditions on raceday, but were lucky and didnt get any rain. After the first round of the championship, the qualifying system had changed from FTQ to the round by round system, making it more equal and forcing drivers to hit the track, instead of saving tires for the finals.

Mattia Pesenti takes Rd4 of Swiss Nationals

Last weekend the 4th round of the Swiss Nationals were held in Lostallo and Mattia Pesenti sent us this report. “On Friday we tested many things and different setups and at the end of the day the car was really good. On Saturday morning during the last practice we tried softer rims and the car was faster and easier to drive, I could ran in 20.170, which was a great lap in Lostallo. We started the qualifying rounds trying to finish the first one without mistake in order to have a good result, I took the 3rd position behind Müller and Kurzbuch. In the next 2 round I always improve my best time, setting a 20 laps in 7.08 in the third round. Kurzbuch and Müller did 20 laps in 7.06. In the last one it was colder and I tried to push harder but unfortunately I made a mistake and lost many seconds. I finished the round with 20 laps in 7.09, setting the new daily record with a lap in 20.045. I finished the qualifying round in 4th position.

Four manufacturers chase ETS title at season finale

The stage is set for the most exciting title battle in the history of the ETS with four drivers representing four different manufacturers in with a chance of becoming the 2011/12 Yokomo Euro Touring Series Champions at this weekend’s (6-8th July) season finale in Traiskirchen, Austria.  Having enjoyed it’s most successful season to-date with close on 700 drivers set to register points in the World famous electric touring car series, the fifth running of the championship has also produced its most competitive year of racing with four different drivers taking to the top step of the podium in the premiere Ride Modified class.  Kyosho’s Christopher Krapp and Xray’s Alexander Hagberg both claimed their first ever ETS wins putting them in the position of going head to head with Team Yokomo’s defending Champion Ronald Volker and Tamiya’s former Champion Marc Rheinard for the prestigious title at the sixth & final round.

ARC R10 touring car options

ARC have released two new option parts for their R10 touring car. First up is a new suspension bracket which provides +0.5 angle for the suspension arm. Made by 7075-T6 aluminium it can be use in the rear/front to make the rear toe-in 2.5 degrees or in the front/rear and move the #1 suspension bracket to the front/front to reduce the front track width. Also new is a rear drive shaft made from hard coated 7075-T6 aluminium. It directly replaces the standard rear spring steel drive shaft and is 30% lighter than the original making for a more efficient transmission.
