Shepherd Velox V10 body posts

Shepherd are happy to release a new body post set for the Velox V10. Compared to the old body posts the redesigned items are much stronger and also offer the possibility to fine tune the height of the body with the help three different recesses in the mounting plates. The set comes with all needed fasteners and will also be included in the soon to be released Velox V10 “twelve”.

Schumacher SupaStox 6 Cell/2S saddle version

Last week Schumacher announced their new SupaStox car and today they have released the pictures of the 6 Cell/2S saddle version. This version is designed for 6 NiMh cells or 2s saddle lipo’s and is mainly used for Oval racing. It includes the different battery mounting system, a 3mm chassis and different spring and tyre choice, compared to the 4 Cell/1s primarily circuit car. Schumacher SupaStox brings top class engineering to the 1/12th GT12 circuit and 1/12th oval classes of racing. It is a high performance racer that uses quality components, but still retains the philosophy of simplicity and low cost. SupaStox is tough enough to cope with the full contact element of Bangers, Hotrods and Saloon Stox, and is also adjustable enough to be perfectly tuned for any circuit or oval track.

Spec-R TCX swing shafts

A new release from Spec-R for the HB TCX, who have introduced this new version 2 CV universal swing shaft. Newly designed with safety ring to keep the cross pin securely fastened and very smooth they have been made from high quality spring steel and hard coated for a very durable result.

Serpent 747 1/10th 200mm chassis

Serpent releases a new development stage for the 1/10 scale gas onroad class, the 747. Shown at the Toy Fair a few months ago, it comes loaded with many improvements and new features and is much lighter too. Focus points for this development stage was to achieve a wider sweet spot, combined with lower weight and further improved performance, and keep a very strong car as before. At first glance the car may look very similar to the 733-TE, but in reality around 50% of the car is new. Italian, German, English and USA drivers in specific were very helpful supplying feedback and testing the new developments. True team-work and it pays off.

Shepherd aluminium pivot ball sets

Shepherd have released these aluminium pivot ball sets for the Velox V8 as well as for the Velox V10. A must-have for serious racers that want to reduce the weight as much as possible to balance the car, the pivot ball set replaces all standard steel pivot balls with weight savings of 65%. CNC machined from premium aluminium they are nickle plated to increase wear resistance and lifespan.

Mile High Indoor Champs report

This past weekend, the Colorado On-Road R/C Club held its 1st annual Mile High Indoor Champs, a race whose outcome determined the ROAR Region 10 champions for 2012. Team CRC’s Max Kuenning walked away as double champion in the both 17.5 1/12 and 13.5 WGT classes. Dave Ehrlich’s victory in 13.5 1/12 gave Team CRC a clean sweep of the pan car classes. Team TOP’s Dustin Layne piloted his Novak powered Photon to victory in the 13.5 sedan class while in 17.5 sedan, the most popular class of the event, it was privateer Art Scrimo taking top honors with his Reedy powered XRay T3’12.

René Puepke wins 1/10 opener in West Germany

René Puepke has taken victory at round one of the Western German Championship in the 1/10 scale on-road nitro class which was held at Dormagen in the north of Cologne. Following a one-year-break Mugen racer Sebastian Buerge came on second at his comeback just in front of last year´s runner-up Andy Weyhoven with his Xray.

Ryan Maker joins Serpent team

Serpent have announced that they have signed top Australian driver Ryan Maker to their team. Ryan will mainly run the Serpent 411 in the 1/10 EP TC class, but will also run the Serpent 966 in the 1/8 scale class. Ryan will continue to run Speed Passion electronics in his touring car and will run Reds Racing engines in his 1/8th scale.
