Boca Bearings TC4 Club Racer bearing kit

Boca Bearings has introduced their new Team Associated TC4 Club Racer bearing kit. All Team Associated TC4 kits are equipped with 24 bearings to fit your transmission, diffs and steering. The entry level kit is their Econo Power RC car and truck kit and is the most affordable of the seven kits they’ve built for this Team Associated model. Bearings in this kit have chrome steel races, chrome balls, chrome retainers and rubber seals. All Econo bearings are packed in grease and will require a short break in period. The secret weapon for any serious racer would be the orange seal ceramic bearings kit. These ceramic hybrid bearings have stainless steel 440C races and ceramic balls and are rated ABEC7 and all bearings in the kit have two rubber seals that can be removed. The enclosure is non contact which allows for 50% faster spin without any drag and this kit comes with AF2 oil.

Victor Christensen dominates Danish Stock series

Twelve year old Victor Christensen rounded off his winning streak in the Danish indoor TC series at the final event held in Skive recently. With a 3 heat win in the Stock class (17.5T, blinking), Victor took a total of 4 wins out of the 5 rounds and could also claim the title as overall winner of the Stock Class with a maximum score. In the first 3 rounds competition was close and Victor was racing his MI4CX and was battling some skilled (and sometimes older) drivers. For the last two rounds Victor had received the new MI4CXL which improved his lap times considerably and resulted in something close to shear dominance. In round 4 his new MI4CXL was assembled the night before the race and despite the lack of testing, things was going so well for Victor that he actually lapped all other competitors in the mains.

Hobbywing Xerun V3 competition ESC

Hobbywing has released their new Xerun V3 competition ESC. The new controller can store up to ten profiles in the memory and can be imported or exported easily. Factory pre-set profiles include Blinky mode, Modify Mode, Stock mode, Practice mode, Offroad mode, Drift mode and Crawler mode. It features a a high reliable built-in electronic switch which also saves space on the chassis. A one piece aluminium upper case in red, blue or black, gives great heat dissipation while allowing higher current. An external programming port (EPP) doubles as a power port for an additional fan. Other features include Advanced Dynamic Timing technology, that provides more customization possibilities, an integrated data logger, recording the maximum temperature of ESC and motor as well as the maximum RPM, all data being easy to check in the pits using the LCD Programming box.

Rinati & Bracci win Trofeo Novarossi

The 1st of April saw the Trofeo Novarossi for 1/8 and 1/10 classes held at the Riccione track. The 1/10 category was dominated in qualifying and in the final by Alex Rinati who would win ahead of Alessio Rinaldi in 2nd and Giammaria Antonelli in 3rd. In the 1/8 category Alessandro Bracci made the pole position, set a new track record and took the victory ahead of Sandro Sammarini in 2nd and Manuel Tordi in third place, who was driving a ‘Classic’ chassis. A final draw saw 6 Novarossi engines, provided by the company, were given to lucky winners.

Mark Green wins BRCA 1/8th season opener

The first round of the 2012 BRCA national championship was hosted by the Wombwell circuit in South Yorkshire. The entry for this circuit is normally low but since this is that start of a new season and with the section having more interest due to the impending 2013 European championships, the entry was around the 50 mark. During the off season, the committee have been busy trying to resolve the issue of tire additives which although we have procedures in place with regards to the policing for non use, further discussions will take place prior to the next round to agree a sensible solution for moving forward.

Sonic V.21T Ielasi tuned engine

The “Ielasi tuned” Sonic V.21T is the top of the line version of the 3.5cc on-road engine hand-modified by former World and European Champion Daniele Ielasi. Years of experience and a great passion for nitro racing allow the Sonic factory driver to make a good product even better. The crankshaft has an more aggressive timing for an improved performance while maintaining a very efficient fuel consumption realized by an optimized fuel flow. Special tear-drop work at the sleeve improves the fuel flow furthermore helping to reduce inner turbulence. Additionally the V.21T-IT is equipped with a high performance Swiss ceramic main bearing.

Ronald Volker takes 3rd straight TCM title

The annual LRP Touring Car Masters took place at its regular home in Eppelheim this weekend. The modified class saw Yokomo driver Ronald Volker take the TQ spot ahead of a Xray’s Alexander Hagberg in 2nd, following a close battle with 3-time World Champion and Tamiya driver Marc Rheinard who would start in 3rd. In the finals Volker would check out in legs 1 and 2 to take his third straight TCM title leaving the battle for the other podium spots to be fought out between Hagberg and Rheinard. With the German having two 2nd places going into the 3rd leg the Swede would need a win. With a mistake from the TRF driver dropping him into the mid pack Hagberg would go on to take the win and with it the runner up spot. Equal on points Rheinard would have to settle for 3rd. In the Pro Stock class Daniel Wohlgemuth took the win from the pole position ahead of Tony Streit in 2nd and Oliver Franke 3rd.
