Mark Green wins BRCA 1/8th season opener

The first round of the 2012 BRCA national championship was hosted by the Wombwell circuit in South Yorkshire. The entry for this circuit is normally low but since this is that start of a new season and with the section having more interest due to the impending 2013 European championships, the entry was around the 50 mark. During the off season, the committee have been busy trying to resolve the issue of tire additives which although we have procedures in place with regards to the policing for non use, further discussions will take place prior to the next round to agree a sensible solution for moving forward.

Sonic V.21T Ielasi tuned engine

The “Ielasi tuned” Sonic V.21T is the top of the line version of the 3.5cc on-road engine hand-modified by former World and European Champion Daniele Ielasi. Years of experience and a great passion for nitro racing allow the Sonic factory driver to make a good product even better. The crankshaft has an more aggressive timing for an improved performance while maintaining a very efficient fuel consumption realized by an optimized fuel flow. Special tear-drop work at the sleeve improves the fuel flow furthermore helping to reduce inner turbulence. Additionally the V.21T-IT is equipped with a high performance Swiss ceramic main bearing.

Ronald Volker takes 3rd straight TCM title

The annual LRP Touring Car Masters took place at its regular home in Eppelheim this weekend. The modified class saw Yokomo driver Ronald Volker take the TQ spot ahead of a Xray’s Alexander Hagberg in 2nd, following a close battle with 3-time World Champion and Tamiya driver Marc Rheinard who would start in 3rd. In the finals Volker would check out in legs 1 and 2 to take his third straight TCM title leaving the battle for the other podium spots to be fought out between Hagberg and Rheinard. With the German having two 2nd places going into the 3rd leg the Swede would need a win. With a mistake from the TRF driver dropping him into the mid pack Hagberg would go on to take the win and with it the runner up spot. Equal on points Rheinard would have to settle for 3rd. In the Pro Stock class Daniel Wohlgemuth took the win from the pole position ahead of Tony Streit in 2nd and Oliver Franke 3rd.

Exotek Tamiya heavy duty hinge blocks

Exotek Racing have released these heavy duty hinge blocks for Tamiya sedans and the Exotek XR3’12 chassis. Increased thickness at the center section they are made of 7075 alloy for extra strength. Turn the block upside down for easy belt clearance with no spacers at the front/rear position. Black anodized they are sold individually and come in A, B, C, D & E versions.

Mike Gosvig wins Danish DASU & DRCMU titles

Having TQ’d and won 4 out of 5 round in the Danish championship in dominant fashion Mike Gosvig became champion without running the last round of the DRCMU Danish Championships. Busy attending the other Danish championship in Broendby, Sunday afternoon he was crowned as both DASU and DRCMU champion, 2 very big series in Denmark. In the DASU Championship Tamiya driver Gosvig won the series from Søren Boy Holst and Christian Lehm, both driving TOP, while in the DRCMU series he took the title ahead of Awesomatix driver Morten Iversen and Serpent driver Steven Molsen.

Capricorn Lab C801 titanium options

Capricorn have released a whole host of new products for their Lab C801 1/8th scale chassis. First up are these thinly coated titanium pivot balls, strong, they offer significant weight savings over the standard versions. Also from titanium there is the fill range of suspension pivot pins as well as shock shaft for even more weight savings. Finally there is the ‘F1’ swaybar for the front of the car, replacing the standard lever system.

Morganti wins Ipanema World GT Championships

Paolo Morganti took the TQ and World Championship in the Open Class at the Ipanema World GT Championship that was held at Barceloneta RC track in Puerto Rico last weekend. In an hour race Morganti went thru some problems when flame out in his first pit stop and lost the first position for a while but was able to recover and keep the lead to finish in first position with his Cobra GT, in second position was Andy Báez and in third was José González.

Serpent S411 Geardiff V2

Serpent have released this improved gear-diff for use in the S411. The main improvements are the new gears with improved shape, which run smoother, combined with coated aluminium 3.5mm shafts. The case has also been updated but the super light spring-steel adapters remain as before. Supplied complete with shims, high quality hardware and o-rings. The V2 gear differential is standard in the 411-TE kits and can be used both front and rear in the 411.
