Shepherd Velox V8 ceramic-eccentric set

Shepherd have introduced their ceramic-eccentric set for the Velox V8. This set includes 16 ceramic ball bearings for a smoother and free drivetrain as well as increased longevity. With the eccentrics it’s possible to change the position of the wheel axle giving more setup options to the user. Special 12x16x0,1mm shims are also included to fine tune the play of the wheel axle.

Steven Weiss wins Trofeo Genitin race

The 4th running of the Trofeo Genitin race and was held recently at the RC Raceway in Rome, Italy. Over 60 Drivers in Stock and Modified class took part and the organizer Luca Magnocavallo did a great job. Steven Weiss with his new T.O.P Photon EX (Prototype), Alessio Menicucci (Associated), Alessandro Brunelli (Serpent) and some other good drivers took part. In the first and second qualifiers in the morning, it was Steven Weiss that emerged on top in front of Alessio with his Associated. Alessio was running new tires for the final round and with Steven on old tires Alessio took the TQ by 1 second in front of Steven. Alessio got a good start in the first final with some mistakes from Steven he was able to win the leg. The same start in the second final, but Alessio made a small mistake and after 5 laps Steven was in front and was able to take the win. In the 3rd and final leg, it was the Associated driver Alessio, who made a mistake in the first corner and Steven swept into the lead and would win the leg by one lap. The runner up spot went to Diego Macchioni with Alessio Menicucci in third.

After successful testing with their top drivers, including World and European Champion Robert Pietsch, they have manufactured these disks to give the opportunity to all of customers to try the aerodynamic benefits. The decals are super easy to fit and make the car more stable and easy to drive during long finals.

Adrian Berntsen signs to ORCA Products

ORCA has made its first move into establishing a line of drivers in Europe to promote and use the ORCA line of products. By signing Adrian Berntsen, ORCA gets a super professional driver with plenty of potential for the future. The Big Guy from the north has made an impact on the racing scene in recent years, not only because of his size, but also with impressive results. Adrian has won 3 Norwegian titles, took the 2010 EFRA Junior European Champion and has been a European Championship finalist for the past two years. Adrian will use the full line of ORCA speed products including Vritra VTC MK2 Speed Controller, RX2 Brushless motors and Infinity LiPo batteries. Adrian has this to say:

The set, which include 14 5.8mm balls, 2 flanged for rear hub and 2 for the upright, weigh in at only 4.27 grams compared to 12.78 grams for the standard steel versions. Made from aluminium they have received a special coating which makes they extremely hard and durable.

With some hype building around the new X release from Traxxas, the Dallas based company have introduced the 1/7th scale XO-1, a car they claim is the fastest RTR available. At speeds of 0-60mph in 2.3 seconds and 0-100mph in 4.92 seconds they might be right. Traxxas partnered with Castle Creations to develop the Mamba Monster Extreme power system specifically for the unique power requirements of the XO-1. The proven Mamba Monster Extreme System has been enhanced for higher output when used with 6S LiPo power. First up, a great new full carbon upgrade kit for the Tamiya TA-06. The ‘Stage One’ Tamiya TA-06/Pro upgrade is a full carbon fiber hop-up kit designed to bring true racing performance to the TA-06 and TA-06 Pro. The kit includes 2.5mm chassis, 2mm upper deck, 3mm shock towers front and rear, top bumper plate, side ESC plate, battery mounts, all aluminium parts and all required fasteners.
