Serpent 411-FF FWD touring chassis

Having seen the Serpent 411-FF at the Nuremberg toy fair Serpent has released full details on their first ever front wheel drive only car. Its based on the Serpent 411 TC 4wd car and shares many parts. Serpent has tested the front wheel drive cars intensively and achieved a perfectly balanced race-chassis, putting the front mounted motor as low in the front as possible. The front wheel drive system gives a unique drive-feel, very different from 4wd, but super smooth, easy and great fun. The Serpent 411-FF pre production cars have already won races in Indonesia and Hong Kong, and the cars will be run at the TITC in Thailand as well.

The second round of the Puerto Rican Nitro On-Road Series took place last weekend at the Barceloneta RC Track and it was Andy Báez with his MTX5 who set the TQ with 14 laps in 5:09.382. In the 45 minutes race the battle for the first position started early when Juan Rodríguez, Andy Báez and Guillermo Camacho started to swap positions in the first 15 minutes of the race. A bad pit stop for Camacho took him from the lead, bumping Fernando Méndez and his MTX5 into third. RC America driver Juan took the lead from that point and was followed home by Andy and Fernando.

Xray 41T narrow 64P pinion gear

Xray have released a 41T pinion to their already available line of narrow 64P pinion gears. Manufactured on a precision gear machine which has ultra-precise tolerances and assures unparalleled concentricity, after machining, the edges of pinions are chamfered and then the pinions are run in. The pinions are then specially treated to give them an even hard coating so they stay absolutely true for a long time. The pinions run great with any spur gears, and work perfectly with Xray spur gears where even throttle on/off noise nearly disappears.

These tires are already trued to the most common diameters for heats and qualifying and will be available on the most common rim styles and most common shore combinations. You will save money, storage space and time, because no truing time, no waiting in the truing area, just put them on the car straight out of the box and the price for these these TQs will be significant lower the the Final (Standard) size tires. Adrian Berntsen wins Norwegian Indoor series Rd3

The 3rd round of the 2011/2012 Norwegian indoor series was held in Spydeberg last weekend and Adrian Bernsten sent us this report. We saw a 600m2 big track with a pretty techinal layout with lots of low-speed corners as well as the traction was not that high. After testing different tires, the tires to be used were Sorex 28. On Saturday we had a practice race before the “real race” on Sunday. This is to get enough practice and lot of traction in the carpet. This race was won by me, in front of Petter Berntsen and Oyvind Stusdal in 3rd.
