Burly & Newton win BRCA GT10 & F1 nationals Rd2

The second round of the inaugural BRCA F1 and GT10 nationals took place at Ardent Raceway. In the GT10 class that is closely based on the World GT formula pioneered in the US, Luke Burley took a dominant TQ driving a GM powered Associated 10R5.1. Luke was the class of the field all day leaving Mark Burgess in 2nd on the A-final grid ahead of Jason Butterfield, both also driving Associateds. In the A final Luke cruised to a comfortable win and in doing so almost lapped the entire field. He was followed home by Jason Butterfield in second and Chris O’Donoghue in third position.

Meen Vejrak wins 4th KM Asia Cup Race

KM Racing’s Meen Vejrak has won the 1/10 scale GP touring car class at the 4th KM Asia Cup race at the RC Addict race track in Bangkok/Thailand. He won in front of Suruth V. (Xray NT1) and Surikan C. (Xray NT1) with KM Racing driver Charlee P. (KM H-K1) in fourth position. This was the last KM Asia Cup Race this year with the next meeting, the KM World Cup, is being held one month before the 2012 World Championship at the same place. In the meantime KM Racing in association with their worldwide distributors plan to run several KM Cup selection races to send the best KM H-K1 racer of each of the participating countries to the 1st KM World Cup. KM Racing fuel gun version 4

KM Racing release the version 4 of their 13mm nitro fuel gun. The modified nozzle and the shorter distance from nozzle to fuel bottle make refilling more accurate, easier and faster. Available with red, blue and gun metal front and end caps.

Capricorn magic gum, teflon grease & white springs

Capricorn have released some new general purpose products for gas racers including their own magic gum cleaning putty which is made from Italian gum and will extract dirt and grime from even the tightest of spaces. Other new items include a general purpose teflon grease and soft white front and rear springs for the LAB C01.

Speedmerchant Xray XII conversion kit

Speedmerchant are releasing their conversion kit for the Xray XII 1/12th scale car. Taking all the information gathered at the Nationals and testing weekly since, they have come up with this conversion. The new parts see the wheel base lengthened for more traction and stability as well as a widened front track for more predictable cornering. The rear suspension geometry has also been revised to get rid of any binding while the revised shock geometry offers more rear traction. The new chassis can accept the battery in 3 different positions, standard position, with over 1/2 inch for/aft adjustment, and offset/inline on either side of the chassis. They have also switched out the progressive springs for their linear tweak springs and moved them in-board, which they found to work much better on the lighter LiPo based cars. Finally they got rid of the single side to side damper for a pair of their proven damper tubes as they found the tubes to be much more consistent for racing.

Arrowmax have released this new brake disc for the Xray NT1. Made from high quality steel, the specially designed holes and their positions offer good ventilation, and also reduce weight, to prevent over heating even during highest friction.

KM Racing H-K1 waist twister system

KM Racing have introduced their ‘waist twister system’ for the H-K1 chassis. An update that allows the radio plate to float apart from the radio plate mounting blocks, it can be locked and unlocked easily for quick back to back testing. The unit itself requires a new radio plate as well as the set itself seen above and can be adjusted between a loose or tight setting enabling very smooth cornering. Making the car very smooth, it works particularly well on low grip tracks.
