Thunder Power sign Viktor Wilck for 2011

Thunder Power Racing have announced the signing of multiple World and European Championship finalist Viktor Wilck to their team for 2011. The Tamiya factory driver will use the company’s new motors and batteries in both his TRF on road and off road cars. The Swedish driver had this to say about his new deal:

I’m happy to have signed with Thunder Power for 2011. After 3 years with SpeedPassion it was time to take on new challenges, I would like to thank Wilson and everybody else at SpeedPassion for this great time we had together and looking forward to develop, and be apart of, Thunder Power’s new racing line.

Steven Weiss joins T.O.P. racing team

Steven Weiss joins T.O.P. racing team

Having raced the new Photon touring car for some months now, former European Championship top qualifier and runner up Steven Weiss from Germany has officially joined the T.O.P. racing team. Steven will race the company’s Photon LiPo spec 2011 chassis in touring car as well as the Rebel12 in the 1/12th scale class. Prior to joining T.O.P. he ran for Yokomo which came after a 3 year stint with Xray.

Andy Moore wins BRCA Winter Nationals

The permanent indoor carpet track at Ardent Raceway was the venue for the BRCA Winter National meeting, qualifying was by FTD with the top thirty two qualifiers going on to race a Reedy style Race of Champions with all drivers using 10.5 pro stock motors. Drivers not making the cut would contest the clubman title. The majority of the top UK national drivers were booked in and full quotas of 102 drivers were led away by current UK national champion Chris Grainger.

T-Work's Racing MRX-5 titanium turnbuckles

T-Work’s Racing has introduced a new series of machined turnbuckles for the Mugen MRX-5. CNC machined from titanium, these new and improved turnbuckles are lighter than the traditional versions, coming in at 9.62 grams compared to 15.06 grams of the standard versions. Available in different sizes to replace all those found on the car.

Mugen MRX-5 ARB set & stiff rear body mount

More new items from Mugen Japan, this time for their popular MRX-5. Firstly they have released a range of rear anti roll bars, which are available in 2.7mm, 2.8mm & 2.9mm, all softer than the standard 3mm version. Also for the rear of the car, Mugen have released the floating rear body mount assembly using harder plastic that helps improve rear downforce without sacrificing steering.

KM Racing have released a number of new items including these 2 different sets of 8.5mm pivot balls for their H-K1 chassis. One version has been machined from titanium while the other is made from hard coated aluminium. Sold in sets of 8 the titanium version is 2 grams lighter than the standard steel version while the aluminium version is 3 grams lighter. KM have also released a complete set of Mini-Z tools.

Serpent 733 Evo 1/10th 200mm chassis

Having just announced the Evo version of their 966 Serpent have today introduced the 733 Evo. Essentially with the same updates as its bigger brother, the Serpent Flex Control rear end allows the brackets holding the 2-speed shaft and the brackets holding the rear diff to be connected with either aluminium inserts, rubber inserts or left in full flex mode. The car now also comes with the company’s direct link system that transfers the suspension pressure from one side, through a link system to the other side, creating even more rear end grip and making the 733 even easier to driver. Also the 2-speed shaft bearings and rear anti-roll bar ball-bearings are now set in delrin bushings to insulate from vibrations and the kit now includes a monoblock engine mount and steel ventilated brake disk as standard.

Corally retain Marc Fisher for 2011

Dutch company Corally have announced that their team driver Marc Fischer from Germany has extended his contract for another year bringing him through to 2012 with the team. Marc Fischer had the following to say about his new deal:

I would like to send my special thanks to Constant, Susi and Yoko for they have given me the chance to continue the contract. In 2011 I will focus on following races: Snowbird Nationals, Euros TC Indoor and Outdoor, 1:12 German Nationals and Euros. On these and other races I would represent Corally as good as possible and will try all my best to take home the victory to team Corally.
