Concialdi & Ripoll win 200mm French Nationals Rd4

Elite-Class

The 4th round of the French 1/10 scale 200mm championship was held on the track of ASCAP at Poissy near Paris. On the small and technical track. Basile Concialdi took the TQ honours and victory in the Elite class with his Team Orion powered Capricorn LAB-C01 leaving the Xray NT1/RB T11RS trio Maxime Favrelle, Thomas Correard and Michaël Derderian behind him. The National class was won by Jean-Laurent Ripoll (Xray NT1/RB T11RS) in front of Jonathan Gergen, Rémi Rivard and David Petit after Vincent Berthon lead the final until he run out of tyres with three minutes to go eventually finishing in sixth position.

24h race @ Motodrom Andernach

Our friend Uwe Rheinard got in touch to tell us about the recent 24h race at the Motodrom Andernach. Being in its 12th year the challenging around the clock race once again attracted 25 teams with a total of 175 racers from Austria, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany to race their Porsche-bodied Tamiya TT-01E kits at the legendary Motodrom, home of World Champion Marc Rheinard and host of the ETS season final. According to the rules each team as to build the chassis on Saturday morning using only a minimum of option parts and Porsche GT3 body shells. For the second year in a row Speed Power sponsored LiFe hardcase battery packs with a capacity of 4200mAh that every team had to use. After 24 hours, 3559 laps and a total distance of around 750km the five time winners “Wild 13” claimed the top spot on the podium using 5 sets of tyres but not a single spare part, followed by the team from the Netherlands with 22 laps less. Xray RX8 alu radio plate mounts

Made from CNC-machined 7075 T6 aluminium are Xray’s radio plate mounts for the RX8 1/8 scale on-road car. The parts allow for a more solid radio plate mounting while reducing the chance of stripped threads and also help to keep the centre belt tightened more precisely. Additionally the design allows to mount a small throttle servo under the radio plate for an optimised centre of gravity.

Exotek EXP Photon LiPo chassis

Exotek Racing have released the EXP performance ultra narrow LiPo chassis for the Top Racing Photon. Cut from 2.3mm thick quasi weave carbon fibre the part improves steering and rear traction while allowing to run lower ride heights thanks to the only 88mm wide main section. The design allows for lateral and longitudinal mounting of the steering servo giving more choices for electronics and fan mounting. The set includes adjustable slider style carbon fibre battery holds for a perfect fit of most batteries.

Christopher Krapp re-signs with Kyosho

Christopher Krapp re-signs with Kyosho

Front running German electric 1/10 scale touring car and off-road driver Christopher Krapp got in touch to tell us that he extend his deal with Japanese manufacturer Kyosho by another year. The 4th placed driver of last year’s electric touring car World Championships and winner of the recent 2011 European Championships warmup race has the following to say about his deal:

I am really happy to announce that I made a one year extension with Kyosho Japan. I had a really good season and I look forward to make it even better this and next year. I will compete at the 1/10 on-road and off-road European and World Championships with the Kyosho TF6, Lazer ZX-5 FS 2 and the RB-5 SP2. I am happy to represent Kyosho’s product range at the tracks and looking forward to a good time.

Lars Hoppe wins Northern German regionals Rd2

Team Shepherd driver Lars Hoppe won the second round of the Northern german regionals at the tight Tüttendorf track near Kiel. He also claimed TQ by setting the fastest three consecutive laps with his Novarossi powered Velox V8 ’11 in qualifying followed by Serpent driver Jens Stark, Shepherd’s Timo Schröder and Serpent’s Merlin Depta. In the following semi final Hoppe defended his first place and finished three laps ahead of Timo Schröder. The 30 minutes main final saw a clear start with Hoppe pulling away from the rest of the field finishing six laps ahead of Marcel Henriksen (Kyosho) in second, Marcell Sledz (Serpent) in third and Timo Schröder in fourth position.
