Last weekend the 3rd round of the Dutch nationals was held on the Raco track in Utrecht. Last year it was the 1st time after almost 20 years to race on this track again and Ilia v. Gastel set the first lap record of 13.937 sec. This time it was clear the track was a lot faster and so new lap records could be expected.

This last weekend saw the 3rd round of Swiss 1/8th scale on road Championships run in Herblingen and we received this report from Mattia Pesenti. We arrived at the track on Friday at 12 and it was wet, but it dried very fast so at 3pm we could practice and I had a very good feeling with my Motonica. Unfortunately Saturday morning the rain came again and so I had to setup my car for the wet. I lost the first qualifier but in the second round I did a very good time placing me in 3rd position and as the rain stopped so the track become faster. However I couldn’t do better in the 3rd round but in the last one I put on different tyres and I was really fast and managed to take the pole position.

Model Race Genk vzw. in Belgium have been in touch to tell everyone about the BeNeLux championships which will be organized on their new track in Genk from the 24th to the 25th of July. This race is driven in 2 classes, 1/8th and 1/10th 200mm, following EFRA rules for the technical specifications and the race organization. The all new 287 meter long track is built to an internationals spec and so features all the facilities you should expect from such a venue. New from Capricorn RC is their balanced-ceramic E-01 engine. Featuring a new hand tuned lightweight and balanced crankshaft and piston liner set, it sports a new crankcase with the Capricorn logo molded into the side. This high performance .12 engine also features ceramic bearings and is expected to be available shortly on their website and through official Capricorn distributors.

The ELME Greek National Cup for 1/8 On Road took place last weekend at the Montelodromio Track in Patra. In qualifying it was Serpent racer John Sotiropoulos that took the pole position winning all 4 rounds of qualifying to line up ahead Kyosho driver Vangelis Totomis in 2nd and John Doukakis in 3rd fro Motonica. In the final it was Sotiropoulos who would come out on top by 2 laps ahead of Totomis in 2nd with another Serpent driver Antreas Makrigeorgios in 3rd.

For the fourth round of the BRCA 1/10th 200mm National championship it was held at Snetterton circuit in Norfolk and Kyle Branson sent us this report. The weather was good however the traction was not so great at the start, but with around 60 cars there on saturday the grip soon came up. It was Mark Green and Kyle Branson who were setting the fastest laps through most of Saturday, my car was good for most of the day with a few little adjustments making it a little better. Sunday morning was cooler and it looked like there was a hint of drizzle during the day, however this wasnt the case as within an hour the sun was out. In round 1 Mark took TQ, I made a mistake which ruined my run of getting 25 laps, with me in second and John Zottl in third. In the second round Mark was still on TQ just ahead of me in second, I couldn’t improve on my time due to having a problem. In the last round I managed to improve and get TQ just under a second ahead of Mark in second and Joe Kerry in third.
