ROAR drawing up provisional 1/8 Super GT rules

ROAR

ROAR is authoring rules for the “GT” category, which it will refer to as “1/8 Super GT” to avoid confusion with other categories that are also called “GT.” The rules pertain to the 1/8 off-road based vehicles that feature on-road passenger and road racing body shells. This is a category that’s been gaining in popularity due to reasonable cost, high durability, lower maintenance and the scale appearance of these big machines. ROAR desires to preserve the most appealing elements of what has made this a popular and growing category. ROAR invites all industry affiliates and current members to inquire with questions or additional suggestions for the rules.

Shepherd Velox V10 option parts

Shepherd Velox V10 option parts

German company Shepherd have released a number of new optional parts for the Velox V10. First up is this center body post set which can be mounted on the front upper wishbone brackets. The additional stability of the body results in an improved downforce and less bending of the body. The high quality aluminium part is anodized blue and all the necessary fixing materials are included. Tested successfully at the World Championship warm-up in Houston the new one-way / solid front axle combination allows the user to adjust the Velox V10 to specific track layouts. Without disassembling the front end the axle can be changed from a independent one-way axle to a solid axle and is supplied with all the parts necessary to do so. The set includes pins to lock the one-way, o-rings to secure the pins, the pulley, an additional belt washer and super lightweight outdrives. Finally and specially created for US-style tracks with hard boards, the aluminium servo saver offers the extra stability that is needed and survives even hard crashes. The ackermann can be adjusted very easily by sliding the upper part back and forth like with the standard one and it is anodized in shiny blue to fit to the other aluminium parts.
