Chaussard wins 1/10 French Nats Rd5

While the 1/8th boys were racing in Niort, the 5th and final round of the 1/10th 200mm French National championship was underway in Manspach, close to the German Swiss border. Qualifying saw Xray driver Arnaud Chaussard take top honours in the Elite class while in the National class it was another Xray driver Jean Baptiste Geneau on top. The Elite final saw the 2008 title being decided between Chaussard and Basile Concialdi, with the former never threatened throughout the race, only dropping out of the lead at 35 minutes when he changed tires. By the end of the race Concialdi had run out of tires and dropped to 3rd behind Mickaël Pontal who took 2nd while Chaussard wrapped up the title in fine style by taking the win. In the National final the win went to Anthony Bruyer, finishing 3 laps clear of 2nd placed Aurélien Gouriau, while the final podium spot went to Bruno Turbot.

Siegfried wins French 1/8 Nats Rd5

The 5th and final round of the French 1/8th scale Nationals were run last weekend in Niort under dry sunny conditions. In the Elite class it was Richard Volta that took the TQ from Stephane Bouche in 2nd and Adrien Siegfried in 3rd, just ahead of Jacky Mouton who was making a one off return to 1/8th scale racing in 4th. In the final it was Volta that took a commanding position at the front of the race, with fellow title hopeful Siegfried in 2nd place. Volta however ran into troubles later in the race and Adrien could take over at the front, eventually winning from Jérôme Papaconstantinos in 2nd and Jacky Mouton ending in 3rd. This win gave Siegfried the 2008 French Elite National title. In the National class it was Romain Baehrel that took the win, clinching the class title, from Gérald Colinet in 2nd and Jérôme Berthelot in 3rd.

Dirk Wischnewski wins German title

Dirk Wischnewski wins German title

The German 1/10th scale nationals were held last weekend at the Hamm track and wet weather limited running on the Saturday’s qualifying runs. With only 2 runs that mattered it was European B Champion Dirk Wischnewski that took the top spot from Sebastian Bürge, Rene Püpke and Frederik Südhof. In the final Dirk was never challenged and went on to win from Xray team mates Ralf Krause and Robert Pietsch.

Claus Ryeskov wins Danish Nationals

Claus Ryeskov wins Danish Nationals

Round 7 of the Danish on road Championship were held at Hillerød Banen last weekend. Martin Lissau and Martin Christensen had done very well at the WC in Portugal but for National title honors it was Xray NT1 driver Claus Ryeskov who was heading for the overall 2008 national title. Saturday’s qualifying sessions were run under sunny conditions and after the 4 rounds it was Martin Lissau who took the TQ from Xray team mates Martin Christensen in 2nd and Ryeskov in 3rd, with No. Hansen in 4th. The weather remained dry on Sunday and to win the overall title Claus needed 2 more points than Kyosho driver Martin No. Hansen, so it was to be a very interesting 45 minutes final. After an intense fight for 2nd place Claus Ryeskov just managed to take runner up spot behind Lissau and with Hansen taking 4th Claus who could claim the overall title.

Xray T2′008 Alu Solid Axle Adapters

Xray have released these CNC-machined diff drive shaft adapters for T2’008 Composite Solid Axle, made from premium lightweight Swiss 7075 T6 aluminium. The alu driveshaft adapters for the front solid axle are a direct replacement for the stock composite versions but with increased strength and lifespan. The modular design of the front solid axle allows for easy removal and servicing. Internal slots key to drive shaft pins require use of the included driveshaft blades, enabling direct power transfer to the wheels and eliminating excess play between the outdrives and drive shafts.

KM Racing Kyosho V-One RRR radioplate

New from KM Racing for the Kyosho V-One RRR series is this carbon fibre radio plate. Designed the fit the car with no modifications it allows the user to install the Xray NT1 fuel tank, something that was seen in use at the Worlds in Portugal but by another manufacturer. Supplied with rubber grommets for mounting the tank, the plate has a hexagonal counter bore design machined into the surface for locking the fifth body post.

DXF Streto Velox & Megatron chassis’

New from French Classic chassis manufacturer, and newly crowned French National champion, DXF comes the Streto Vortex Chassis. Based on the company’s Primo chassis and developed with the help from a Ferrari engineer the car features a rear diffuser which is an essential part of the chassis and doesn’t just look good but helps with the performance too. Showing that DXF is at the leading edge of development in the Classic class, they have also developed the Megatron which uses a brushless system resulting in the same performance as a nitro car, together with 20 minutes run time.

2008 HPI/Orion GP – Announcement

2008 HPI/Orion Grand Prix

We were contacted by the organizers of the 2008 HPI/Orion Grand Prix that will be held in the East of France on the 22nd & 23rd of November. Open to both on road and off road, there are only 75 drivers allowed in both disciplines, with both split into expert and amateur classes. Now in its 8th year, the race will be run using this great looking carpet track that offers a challenging circuit for touring cars together with a separate buggy section that incorporates a jump section, table top and mandatory wall ride.
