Losi have introduced this 1/10 Slider RTR, the first-ever 1/10-scale ready-to-run electric sprint car from a major RC manufacturer. Modeled after the full-scale counterpart, the Slider features detailed components, including a 4-piece Lexan body with molded chrome headers, a protective roll cage, a functional rear wing for track tuning and multi-surface dirt oval style tires mounted on beadlock-style wheels. Ellis Stafford has won the fifth round of the BRCA Championship at Southport, which has seen him take his third National crown. In just his second year with X Factory, Stafford took convincing wins in A-2 and A-3 to wrap up the 2008 Outdoor Championship. Ellis won the last two mains by 8 second each with a car that was obviously faster than anything else on the track.
Last year I was getting used to the entirely new concept of the mid-motor car. It’s just obvious to me that The New Math is faster, but there is a bit of a new driving style and that takes getting used to. But once I learned it, it was nothing but “go” from that point on. I’ve just gotten faster and faster the longer I drive this car, and I’m looking forward confidently to the worlds in ’09

Last weekend in Telde, Las Palmas, saw a 2 hour endurance race held with a total of 10 teams in attendance, with each team comprising of 2 drivers. The Ultimate Racing team with Armiche Aleman as 1st driver and Cristo González as 2nd driver, together with Lito as mechanic, took the win by 15 laps over the pairing of Carlos Santana and Oliver who finished in 2nd spot.

Jammin are reporting on last weekends win for their team driver Taylor James at the IFMAR Pre-Worlds Race in Charlotte, North Carolina. Taylor proved that the Jammin X1X Buggy is now one of the the top contenders for the World Championships, to be held later this year, by posting top qualifier and then going on to take the win in the one hour long A-Main. “With a new chassis layout, the X1X Buggy is faster through the corners and accelerates off the corner quicker. Overall stability is much better.” says Jay Halsey. He also revealed that Jammin Products is planning a Conversion Kit for the X1X and also a complete kit, both coming within the next three months.

Having being forced to cancel the event at the first attempt due to poor weather conditions, the re-scheduled second round of the Irish 1:8 Off Road National Championships took place in Galway over the weekend where Team Associated driver Alan Bickerstaff completed the perfect weekend. Taking the race victory Bickerstaff made it two National wins in 24 hours having won the EP Touring Car National opener at day earlier in Northern Ireland.
