Frank Lemke wins Krick/Cen Monstertour

Frank Lemke wins Krick/Cen Monstertour

Last weekend the second leg of the Krick/Cen Monstertour was held in Mechernich, Germany. The damp and muddy conditions added extra stress on the cars and engines and so only the best equipment would make it through the difficult conditions. These special format races are comprised of 3 events, a slalom race were the cars have to go through various obstacles, a long jump contest and a normal race held on a race track. It was the first outing for Kyosho Germany driver Frank Lemke’s Inferno ST-RR powered by the new .21 CRF Buggy engine. In the long jump event, Frank was able to jump a distance of more than 10m (30ft), 20% more than the competition. In the regular race held on the (muddy) race track, Frank’s CRF powered car was 1 second a lap faster than the rest of the field. Using the CRF engine’s torque to it’s full extent, he was 1 lap faster in each qualifier. During the muddy finals, Frank was able to get twice the run-time out of a fuel tank than his competitors and was able to take the win.

Petersen dominates Hank Perry 240

Taylor Petersen dominates Hank Perry 240

Kyosho America have a brief report from the recent Hank Perry 240 that attracted more than 300 entrants as well as attracting top factory talent from many of the major manufacturers. Kyosho / CRF driver Taylor Petersen dominated the event, having qualified first in the Pro Buggy class and 2nd in the Pro Truggy class. At the beginning of the buggy main Petersen battled closely with a couple of the front runners, trading the lead during pit stops, before taking the lead for the last time on lap 35 and going on to win by 1 lap. The truggy main also started with some close racing with the early front runners, but it took a challenging turn when Petersen had problems during the first fuel stop, knocking him back to fifth place and a full lap down to the leader. Petersen put his head down and charged as hard as possible, eventually getting back on the lead lap before finally passing the leader on lap 70. Petersen pulled out more than a five second lead over the last five laps to seal the win in the Pro Truggy class. Taylor also took top honours in the 1/10 truck class for yet another class victory.
