Picado wins 200mm class at Panama GP race

The Panama GP race was recently held in Costa Rica. The Cup was started last year to create a series held in the two neighbouring countries of Costa Rica and Panama and this time the drivers travelled to Costa Rica. In the 200mm class it was Picado who took the win in the A-main from Lazaro Milan in second and Roque Pinilla in third.

Phat Bodies Hammer EMB-1 LWB bodyshell

Coming from UK company Phat Bodies and made for the EMB-1 mini buggy is the new Hammer bodyshell. The body allows the longer 225mm wheelbase truck or Desert buggy chassis to be used as a buggy for increased stability and overall performance. The body is made from tough 0.75mm polycarbonate, it comes clear, with overspray film and stickers.

Avid A800 black anodised aluminium main chassis plate

Following the introduction of the hard-anodised 2mm aluminium main chassis plate for the Awesomatix A800 touring car, Avid have also released information on a black-colour variant. The chassis sports the same features as the hard-anodised variant as are 0.5mm wider inner pivot points on each side and an optional 6mm more rearward battery position for increased rotation when needed. The chassis is recommended for the use in medium to high-bite conditions and it is available now.

T-Works have introduced several titanium option parts and a gold-plated steel screw set for Xray’s all-new XT2 stadium truck. Avalbale are a 64-grade titanium turnbuckle set, a 45-piece UFO head titanium screw set as well as 64-grade titanium ball ends. Also new is a gold-plated steel screw set.

Sugiura & Matsukura take JMRCA 1/10th Buggy titles

The 2016 JMRCA 1/10 EP Off-Road Nationals for 2WD and 4WD Buggies were held at the World Famous Yatabe Arena over the weekend. In the 2WD Modified Buggy class, it was Kyosho’s Yusuke Sugiura taking the overall TQ with his RB6.6. Sugiura would go onto take convincing wins in A-mains one and two and secure the JMRCA 2WD Buggy National Championship. Kyosho’s Naoto Matsukura also showed great speed in the finals, coming from the sixth starting position to finishing second overall.

Daniel Ortiz sweeps North Spanish EP off-road finale

The final round of the North Spanish Electric Off-road Championships was held at the Carbi track in Bilbao. Young Schumacher driver Daniel Ortiz took the TQ, win and the fastest lap in the competitive 2WD Buggy class from Pablo Fernandez (Team Associated) in second and Xray’s Dany Fernandez in third. The Schumacher duo of Iker Viela and Joserra Ortiz rounded out the top 5 result.

BMT701 Evo2 front shock tower & anti-roll bars

Italian company BMT have introduced new optional parts for the 701 1/10th 200mm nitro on-road car. First up is the Evo2 front shock tower. The part is made from high-quality carbon fibre and it offers updated and optimised shock mounting positions. Also new are 2.2mm and 2.4mm front and rear anti-roll bars. The optional wires allow for finer adjustment steps.

Adam Drake doubles at JBRL Nitro Series finale

Pro-Line Racing hosted the final round of the JBRL Nitro Series this past weekend with the event having 120 entries including Adam Drake, Cody King, and Joseph Quagraine. Drake was the top qualifier in both rounds of qualifying for Nitro Buggy and Nitro Truck. In the Buggy class, Drake pulled away from the field in the early stages of the race, but had a bad lap or two and allowed Cody King to catch up. Adam and Cody had a great battle in the middle part of the race, but Drake eventually settled into a groove and distanced himself from the field.  Drake took the victory followed by Cody and Joseph. Elsewhere in the Nitro Truck final, Adam Drake led wire to wire and took the victory.
