Rönick wins German 1:8 Nitro Buggy Nationals

Aaron Rönick is the new DMC German 1:8 Nitro Buggy National Champion, the Team Associated driver claiming the title for the first time at the 2-time European Championship host track of Sand am Main. In qualifying it was defending champion Berkan Kilic who took the TQ after 5 rounds of qualifying but on completing the Semi Finals it was his brother Burak who lined up on pole for Mugen Seiki followed by Berkan, Rönick and the Sworkz of Joern Nuemann. At the start of the 45-minute final Berkan would hit problems on lap one before eventually retiring just after the 10-minute mark. After their 1-2 finish last year, 2-time German Champion Burak was the next to retire with his race coming to an end just before 1/3 distance. Having taken the lead early on Rönick would stay out front to take his Ruddog Racing engined RC8B4.1 to the victory & title by almost a full lap from Nuemann with Sworkz team-mate Max Hesse completing the podium.

Ruddog supports Red RC 1:8 Offroad Worlds coverage

While the entire World currently watches sport’s greatest spectacle as athletes do battle in Paris for the greatest prize in their chosen sports, in just one months time RC Racing’s best will do battle for our sport’s biggest prize at the IFMAR 1:8 Offroad World Championship, and Red RC is excited to announce we have teamed up with Ruddog Racing to bring our readers full trackside coverage from Spain. Having supported our coverage of the 2023 1:10 Offroad World Championships in Arizona, we are delighted to be teaming up once again with Ruddog to attended our sixth 1:8 Offroad World Championship, our first being 2010 in Pattaya, Thailand where Cody King was crowned Champion. In addition to our regular event coverage from Redovan, we are excited to bring you a new daily ‘Welcome to my World’ column from Ruddog sponsored driver Marcus Kaerup. The reigning European 1:10 2WD Champion & 2022 4WD Champion as well as a double finalist on his EP Worlds debut last year, the 16-year-old, who will campaign a Ruddog Racing engines powered Team Associated, will give a daily insight into how his World Championship effort is going. As a company German based Ruddog is steeped in offroad racing history being a distributor for 32 times World Champion manufacturer Team Associated and iconic offroad tyre brand JConcepts to name but a few. Founded in 2006 by Sven Rudig, himself an avid offroad racer, they have developed their own product ranges such as Ruddog Racing which offers a line of electronics and engines. They are also behind Revolution Design Racing Products which has established itself as a designer & producer of high-quality tuning parts and are popular upgrades among offroad racers. Sweep Racing Alligator 1:10 Buggy Front tyre

Having released its carpet and astro turf track surface developed Alligator 1:10 Buggy tyre as a rear last year, Sweep Racing has now released a front version of the tyre for carpet racing. Designed using the same low profile carcass as the rear tyre, the optimised centre lug pattern and tappered side pins offers the best driving feeling on carpet tracks.

T-Works IFB8 CF Center Gearbox Plate w/Bearings

New from T-Works are this Carbon Fibre Center Gearbox Plate with Bearings and Steel 12mm Pivot Balls for the Infinity IFB8 1:8 Nitro Buggy. Machines from carbon fibre, the lightweight Center Gearbox Plate significant reduces overall weight. Supplied with bearings for the brake cam, this contributes to a more precise & increased responsiveness. The Steel 12mm Pivot Ball is 6.89g heavier compared to the original aluminium pivot ball with the significant increase in the weight of the front rocker arm enhancing steering response. The pivot ball is designed with hexagonal 3.0 holes to ensure easy installation and ensure the stability and durability of the part.

JConcepts XB2’24 F2 | P2 Bodies

JConcepts has released its F2 and P2 bodies for the Xray XB2’24 1:10 2WD Buggy. It is difficult to find a more successful body shell designed by the Florida company than the F2 (blue colour scheme). With the release of the Xray XB2 2024, JConcepts set off to incorporate all the functionality of the IFMAR World Championship winning shell and wrapped it around the newest dynamo from Team XRAY. The exclusive composition of the cab, extra rear windows, louvered roof all tied together with Finnisher “V” configuration makes the F2 a classic performer with it now available to wrap around the newest offering from Xray. The P2 (red colour scheme) design arrived just in time for the IFMAR Worlds in 2017 where the team tested and confirmed performance characteristics on the Xiamen, China track surface and has since developed a reputation as the go-to design for dirt surfaces ranging from low to high-traction. Both bodies include two of the 6.5” Carpet | Turf | Dirt wing which are now a standard racing item around the world.

Avid B7 Front Roll Center Shim | Tower Alignment Shim

Adding to its range of aftermarket parts for the Team Associated RC10B7 2WD Buggy, Avid has released a Front Roll Center Shim and a +2.5° Front Shock Tower Alignment Shim. The Front Roll Center Shims are made out of 100% carbon and are offered as a set with four thicknesses of 0.5mm, 1.0mm, 1.5mm, and 2.0mm. Lowering the front hinge pins allows the front end to roll more, this is extremely helpful for absorbing the extra energy caused by high bite tracks like carpet/astro turf/prepped clay. It can sometimes be counter-intuitive thinking why this helps, but a good way to picture the benefits, imagine your car has turnbuckles as front shock. When giving your car any steering input the car will immediately respond causing the rear to become unstable. This increase in roll helps slow all that reaction down in the front and then in the mid-corner it picks up steering.

JConcepts Double Dees V2 Stadium Truck Tyres

JConcepts has released its Double Dees V2 tyre for 1:10 Stadium Truck racing in in green compound. Originals are often hard to beat, in the case of the Double Dees V2, every attempt at improving was considered. The carcass was revised for a broader and lower carcass for a stout feel in straight-line tracking ability. The sidewall provides a little cushion for bumps and terrain irregularities and the “hips” have moved a little lower for more stability. The inner carcass webbing has also been designed to incorporate a more traditional overlapping X pattern concept to provide the all-around support needed at high-speed. The V2 rear tyre is perfect for a variety of track surfaces and when conditions are unknown, the Double Dees are always a safe choice.

T-Works Titanium Front Shock Standoffs

More additions to the range of aftermarket parts for the new Infinity IFB8 1:8 Buggy from T-Works with these Titanium Front Shock Standoffs. Made from 64 Titanium material for its lightweight and high-strength characteristics, the upgrade of the shock standoffs can lighten the suspension system high point, enhancing the stability of the model car at high speed. Three different lengths of standoffs are offer, 8mm, 10mm or 13mm, allowing you to choose the right length according to your set-up needs. Additionally T-Works is offering DLC coated Shock Shafts for the IFB8 with a 67.2mm rear and 58.5mm front. The DLC coating reduces friction and improves the shock effect. Finally there is a Shock Shaft Guides Maintenance Set which includes bottom spacers, centre spacers and
shock absorbing rubber rings.
