Adam Drake got the job done in the Senior buggy class, his Losi 8ight was the class of the field on the fast, dusty and punishing track and he won by half a lap in front of Xray racer, and Italian National round 3 winner, Alex Laffranchi in 2nd with the Crono RS03 of Fabrizio Tegheshi in 3rd, another half a lap back. In the truggy class it was another visitor that took the win, Finnish racer Joseph Quagraine took the win for HoBao by over a lap from Mugen racer Fabio Boero in 2nd with the American Adam Drake once again at the sharp end of the field, bring his Losi 8ight truggy home in 3rd.

[googlevideo]5409638732023805980[/googlevideo]

RC Mag have again produced some great videos from the 2007 Kyosho Masters, held in France last weekend. As you can see from these videos of the Elite buggy final, it was really wet and this probably explains why the British racer Elliot Boots was able to win easily, using all those skills gained racing in the often wet and miserable UK Nationals. Check out the first part of the final above and watch the second video below.

Elliot Boots wins Kyosho Masters

Elliot Boots wins Kyosho Masters

British racer Elliot Boots has beaten all in the Elite Buggy class to win the 2007 Kyosho Masters in France this weekend. The young driver lined up 2nd on the grid, with only current World Champion Mark Pavidis ahead of him after a very quick semi run, but in the 45 minute race, after Pavidis ran into some trouble, it was left to Boots to take over at the front and win the race by 2 laps ahead of Karl Jackson with French racer Stéphane Deroch in 3rd. In the Truggy class it was Mark Pavidis that took win ahead of Portugese racer Miguel Matias in a very tight battle that saw the pairing seperated by less than 2 seconds at the end of the 20 minute race, Yuichi Kanai came home in 3rd.

Team Orion CRF .21 – Close up

Team Orion CRF .21 - Close up

We have already shown you the outside of the new .21 CRF buggy engine from Team Orion, as driven at the Kyosho Masters by engine developer Adrien Bertin, and while it may seem overkill to keep going on about this engine, we feel its important to show you more. We now have photos of the internals of this new engine and at first glance they seem to look very similar to those used in the .12 engines from CRF. How good is this engine, well Bertin qualified his CRF powered Kyosho in 9th place in Elite buggy at the Masters, but without knowing the full details, its hard to judge the motor based on this performance. Look below for yourself at the new crankshaft and the piston liner set.

While all the top Kyosho racers from around the world are in France for the Kyosho Masters, it seems most of the other top racers are in Italy for the annual Offroad meeting. Held at the Monsummano Terme track, which we showed you videos from yesterday, this event has attracted a lot of international racers such as Adam Drake, Joseph Quagraine, Joern Neumann, Jerome Sartel and the Associated team of Maifield and Saxton were to come also. Qualifying in the buggy class saw Mugen racer Fabio Boero take the top qualifying spot ahead of Kyosho pairing of Samu Lenzi and Raul Peris in 2nd and 3rd respectively, while Losi top man Adam Drake placed 4th.
