Daniele Ielasi wins Rd2 Italian Nationals

Daniele Ielasi wins Rd2 Italian Nationals

Last weekend in Italy at the fast Fiorano track, close to the Ferrari test track, the second round of the Italian Nationals took place and in qualifying it was young Serpent racer Andrea Cristiani that took the TQ with Mugen driver, and round 1 winner, Alberto Picco lining up in 2nd with Lamberto Collari in 3rd for Kyosho. The race was an hour long, and so endurance was as important as speed and in the end it was Daniele Ielasi, who had won his semi final to make it into the main, that took the win by 1 lap ahead of Alberto Picco, while pole man Andrea Cristiani finished in 3rd position, 5 laps back, after some pit lane and engine problems but still managed to set the fastest race lap.

Pesenti takes Rd2 of Swiss 1/8th Nats

Last weekend saw the 2nd round of the Swiss Championship take place in Wallisellen, near Zurich, the same track which held the EC-B 1/8 in the 1998. Our man Mattia Pesenti was in action at the event, as he was in round 1, driving his Novarossi powered Motonica and has provided us with this report.

We started with the qualifying rounds on Saturday after dinner, I had some problems with my engine so I had to change it. I did my best round in the last round, until that I was 7th and after the last round I was in the Top 4.

Corally 12X WC Front conversion kit

Corally 12X WC Front conversion kit

Corally have announced the release of a new front end conversion that emulates that used by David Spashett to win last summers World Championship for the Dutch manufacturer. Of course everyone knows that David, and a lot of other Corally racers, were running the CRC front end on their cars, so now Corally have recreated this for themselves and will now be sold as the 12X WC Front suspension conversion kit.

Since David Spashett has become 1:12 IFMAR World Champion 2006 with Corally SP12X US Spec, with a special front end of which brand we all know about, and the demand from end-consumers never seemed to cease, we have finally decided to offer them in our repertoire. All the parts needed to complete the special front end to enable you to simulate the feeling of the true world champion machine are now available.

Sirio 2007 Engine line-up

Sirio CL7R STI

Sirio might have been dropped by Kyosho in favour of CRF for team and kit supply but Sirio are still going strong and are still producing very competitive engines. We got hold of images of Sirios 2007 engine lineup from our sponsors, and official Sirio agents, The Border, and we have put them online to show you. A lot of the motors carry forward from last year with the exception of the CL7R STI (above) which is the latest and greatest version of their 3.5cc circuit motor, and the CL7B STI which is the latest top of the line 3.5cc buggy engine. The Border will have most of this line-up of motors in stock from next week onwards, so if you like what you see you can check them out there next week.

Serpent shock spring supports

Serpent shock spring supports

Serpent have released 2 seperate shock spring supports for their RCC, and older, shock absorbers. The first versions (above) are made from aluminium and have been lightened through the use of holes and are a direct replacement of the original versions only stronger. The second version, which you can see below, are made from the original composite material, but are 2mm thicker, which means the spring sits 2mm higher on the shock body, allowing for a wider range of spring tension adjustment.

Serpent 720 LCG Chassis

Serpent 720 LCG Chassis

Serpent have released this new optional chassis plate for the 720 which has been heavily milled on the topside to enable the whole car to sit lower allowing for a lower centre of gravity while, through the addition of extra holes, the chassis plate is now extremely light. This chassis will be perfect for those racers looking for that extra cornering advantage in higher grip conditions and to allow your chassis to be made stiffer, the front of the chassis has space to mount the optional carbon stiffener plate, which will be sold separately.
