Sirio 2007 Engine line-up

Sirio CL7R STI

Sirio might have been dropped by Kyosho in favour of CRF for team and kit supply but Sirio are still going strong and are still producing very competitive engines. We got hold of images of Sirios 2007 engine lineup from our sponsors, and official Sirio agents, The Border, and we have put them online to show you. A lot of the motors carry forward from last year with the exception of the CL7R STI (above) which is the latest and greatest version of their 3.5cc circuit motor, and the CL7B STI which is the latest top of the line 3.5cc buggy engine. The Border will have most of this line-up of motors in stock from next week onwards, so if you like what you see you can check them out there next week.

Serpent shock spring supports

Serpent shock spring supports

Serpent have released 2 seperate shock spring supports for their RCC, and older, shock absorbers. The first versions (above) are made from aluminium and have been lightened through the use of holes and are a direct replacement of the original versions only stronger. The second version, which you can see below, are made from the original composite material, but are 2mm thicker, which means the spring sits 2mm higher on the shock body, allowing for a wider range of spring tension adjustment.

Serpent 720 LCG Chassis

Serpent 720 LCG Chassis

Serpent have released this new optional chassis plate for the 720 which has been heavily milled on the topside to enable the whole car to sit lower allowing for a lower centre of gravity while, through the addition of extra holes, the chassis plate is now extremely light. This chassis will be perfect for those racers looking for that extra cornering advantage in higher grip conditions and to allow your chassis to be made stiffer, the front of the chassis has space to mount the optional carbon stiffener plate, which will be sold separately.

Mugen have announced the release of their new RV01 1/8th scale Lola body shell which has been made in conjunction with, and named after, top Mugen racer Rick V. EFRA approved the new body gives a great balance between steering and rear traction and also features a built in V-shaped side stiffener, which due to its shape removes the need to use side stiffeners or other methods to stiffen the side of the body.

First Picture – Kyosho 1/12th GP 4wd

Kyosho 1/12th GP 4wd

Back in April we showed you an exclusive CAD image of the new 1/12th pan car from Kyosho, well here is the first photo of the car, due to be released next week. Yet another announcement for the Japanese company at its home show at Shizuoka, the new car features front suspension using a coil spring over the steering block king pin, similar to the setup on a Mini Z, comes with a 38cc fuel tank, aluminium chassis, has a rear ball diff and actually has a 2 speed gearbox. Other more obvious things are that its 4wd belt driven, through 2 belts, and comes with a Sirio .09 motor, which i’m sure they are trying to shift considering the companies soon to be announced deal with CRF.

Check out some other small pics here.
