Davide Ongaro takes Italian E-Buggy title

The final round of the Italian 1/8th Off-road Championship was held at the Barcooff track last weekend and in the 1/8th E-Buggy class it was Davide Ongaro to walk away with the day’s win and the overall championship title. In a 3-horse battle for the win Davide left Riccardo Berton and Alex Zanchettin behind in second and third respectively but the decision had to be brought by the tie-breaker as Davide and Riccardo were tie on points after the triple A-mains.

Active Hobby Products TA07 Pro progressive shock system

Active Hobby Products have introduced their progressive shock system for the TA07 Pro touring car and other kits using long TRF shocks. Making use of a common system the set includes two inner tubes with triangular cut-outs and plain shock pistons with the cut-outs allowing the damper fluid to bypass the shock piston for a progressive damping characteristic once the shocks start to compress. The set includes two tubes and pistons usable both on the front or the rear of the car.

Kyle McBride takes Dragon Stone title

The 2016 Dragon Stone Asian Nitro Buggy Championships took place in Liaoyang, in north eastern China last weekend. Organised by Scotty Ernst, and with a lot of top international racers attending, joining the regional and national racers, there was a great turnout for this first annual event. The track was located in a beautiful park and all attending racers were bussed in everyday from the official hotel with a police escort. Unfortunately the weather decided to throw a curve ball, with the outer edge of a typhoon providing plenty of rain throughout the week.

2016 Pro10 German National Championship – Report

2016 Pro10 German National Championship – Report

The 27th Pro10 German National Championship was held this past weekend at the MSC Rötz track in the south-east of the country. The open championship attracted racers from The Netherlands, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Germany. The warm-up race about four weeks ago saw Tobias Weist taking the win in the Modified class while Tim Schad walked away with the win in the Stock category. Both were also the pre-event favourites beside the always quick Tim Altmann in Modified and 2015 Stock champion, Robert Klier who also started in Modified this year.

Spanish National Series Rd4 – Report

The fourth and final round of the Spanish National Series was held at the Baracaldo track. The race for the overall championship titles was still on and in Touring Modified it was David Perez who took a valuable TQ from Beto Rivera and Javier Alonso while Eduaro Escandon, who was also in the position to take the overall title, had to settle for fourth.

Serpent have introduced new optional parts for the Natrix 748 1/10th nitro touring car in the form of a brass front suspension bracket and lightweight aluminium driveshaft parts. Starting with the front suspension bracket, the part is machined from heavy brass material to add weight up front and very low in the cars which helps to counter traction rolling in high-bite track conditions. 29g heavier than the standard alloy bracket the brass part is best combined with the sliding brass chassis weights and it is a direct fit on the 748.

Mara & Novotny win at Czech Nitro Buggy nats Rd3

The third round of the Czech Nitro Buggy Nationals were held at the Horni Jeleni track. The qualifiers of the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class were a pretty mixed affair with every round having different winners but Kaja Novotny’s Q1 time would be fast enough to win him the overall TQ from Max Gotzl and Jiri Mara in second and third respectively. In 1/8th E-buggy it was again Kaja who came out fastest after the qualifiers despite having some bobbles in the opening two qualifiers. Max Gotzl would follow in second from Ales Bidovsky in third.
