Simon Nicholson TQs & wins at QLD State Titles

The 2016 EP Queensland State Titles were held at the world class Brendale facility last weekend. In Touring Modified Simon Nicholson TQ’d followed closely by Nathan Reese in second and Lionel Saunders in third. Simon took full advantage of TQ position and got off to an early start to take a comfortable A1 and A2, Nathan having plenty of pace to stay out of trouble behind, but not enough to challenge Simon for the victory while Lionel Saunders rounded out the top 3 for an all-Yokomo podium. In the Stock class it was Keith Mackrill (Yokomo) who brought home the win.

Xray have announced the Xray Racing Series Greece for the Winter season of 2016/17. Held at the Athens-based Fanatix Racing Track the 9-race series will kick off on the 2nd of October with the final round taking place on the 19th of February. Categories run will be Touring Modified, Touring Stock 17.5T, Formula, 1/12th pan car and also 1/10th 200mm Nitro. More information and all dates can be found here and here.

Schumacher have introduced the all-new Mini Dart 1/10th buggy tyre for carpet and astro turf tracks. The tyre features a new low-profile design to improve bump handling and reduce traction rolling tendencies on high-grip tracks. Midway in terms of the Mini Pin and Mini Spike the tread offers great versatility on both carpet and astro tracks while offering exceptional tread life and a BRCA legal width. The Mini Dart is available as 2WD front, 4WD front and general rear tyre in blue long life, yellow dry and silver wet compound and also as yellow compound pre-mounts.

The opening round of the Florida State Electric Auto Racers Association racing series was held at 386 RC Raceway with over 60 entries. Held in several electric on-road classes the event would see Raymond Darroch TQing the 17.5T Pro Stock A-main from second placed Dave Vera and third placed Austin Wolfe.

Sybrand de Boer wins at Dutch EP On-road Nats Rd6

The sixth and final round of the Dutch Electric On-road Nationals was held at the fast, bumpy and pretty low-grip Raco2000 track. Sybrand de Boer would TQ the Touring class nearly a second in front of Rob Janssen who suffered from not getting his front tyres to work properly. In the finals and thanks to better tyre treatment, both Sybrand and Rick would outpace Rob who had to settle for third overall which would still be good enough to take the Dutch National title.

Hobbywing XR10 Pro 1S 1/12th scale speed controller

Hobbywing have introduced the 1S 1/12th scale version of their popular Xerun XR10 speed controller. 6mm shorter and 12g lighter than is predecessor V3.1 1S, the controller, that made a first public appearance at the recent IFMAR Electric On-road World Championships, allows for better placement within the chassis while also granting for easier weight distribution adjustments. The machined black alloy case houses a built-in switch and a capacitor module to further save weight and space while in terms of software the 1S variant sports five pre-sets commonly used in 1/12th scale racing while the optional LCD Program Box and WiFi Module make further adjustments of the parameters easy. The 1S-only speedo is usable without an external receiver battery as it sports a switched 6V/3A BEC system.
