Spanish 1/8th scale buggy manufacturer Sidorf is to release a new engine range this year called the XR range. The first motor to be released will be the GP7T, which is a 7 port designed for serious pace off road. More information to follow.

Two days ago we showed this picture and asked if it was the new Associated and well what we know about the new RC8 pretty much ruled it out, like the fact that it uses C hubs and will come with a somewhat radical wing and body. So now there has been a lot of guessing concerning this picture, myself included, and it seems the front runner is that this is the new Crono and comparing it to a picture of the RS03 would seem to confirm that.
Our mate Philip over at Neo Buggy has a spyshot on his site and although he’s not giving too much away on what manufacturer it is from, you have to ask who is left to show their entry into this class besides Team Associated. The upcoming RC8 is eagerly awaited and while it will contain some parts from the Thunder Tiger buggy, it should be all new. When we find out more we will let you know.
UPDATE: We have been reminded that the new Asso will be released with C-hubs and this car doesnt appear to have them. Damn, so that means we are no closer to finding out who this car is from, perhaps Crono?

Picco Micromotori, the famous Italian engine manufacturer has released their latest .28 truggy motor for this ever more competitive class. This new engine features a rather Ninjaesque cooling head which is supposed to aid performance and inside the engine has 5 ports and 2 booster ports and the crankshaft is scooped making this one serious motor to put into your truggy.

Red RC isnt the build and review type of site, we like to just carry product and racing news and other interesting bits but we always make an exception for when oOple does a build and review article, they are the absolute best you can get. Taylor Peterson showed he was the class of the field by winning both the buggy and truggy class at last weekend US Indoor Gas Champs. Held in one of the largest indoor arenas in Utah, the Kyosho racer easily won the buggy final by 2 laps ahead of 2nd place finisher and TQ man Gary Guest with Ronnie Gardner finishing 3rd. In the truggy class it was a bit closer but Peterson still had an 11 second buffer over 2nd place Gary Guest with Ryan McCrery 2 laps further back in 3rd.

Neo Buggy are reporting that 2004 ROAR National 1/8th scale off road Champion has signed to race for Spanish manufacturer Sidorf. Jason was in Spain last week testing the car and to sign a 2 year deal to race and promote the Sidorf brand in the USA, where it is still a relative unknown.

RB Products are reporting on the recent Japan Off-Road Car Cup that was held on the demanding and dusty Saitama circuit. Top drivers were present including Yuichi Kanai, Kenji Osaka as well as last years Japanese Nationals top qualifier Kazuya Tanaka. After qualifying it was current Japanese National champion Kenji Osaka who took the TQ ahead of Tanaka but in the race Tanaka was able to run away with the race amazingly only having to stop twice for fuel in the 30 minute race.
