Guillaume Vray wins Rd1 of French Nats

Mugen RB racer, Guillaume Vray has won the first round of the French National Championships for 1/8th scale buggy held last weekend at Noeux les Mines. Vray had qualified 4th but won his semi final to line up first for the Open final where he was able stay in front to take a close win, ahead of fellow Mugen racer, and Ligue 9 Rd1 winner, Renaud Savoya who ended up 3 seconds back after 45 minutes to finish 2nd. Julien Lattanzio completed the podium in 3rd, finishing on the same lap as the leaders only 10 seconds back on Savoya.

Truhe & King take all at Silver State NC

Silver State NC

Mike Truhe has cleaned up in Buggy and 1/10th stadium truck to take the double for Team Losi. In the buggy class Mike lead home a 1-2 for the 8ight with team mate Adam Drake coming home in 2nd with Ryan Cavalieri bringing the Team Associated RC8 home in 3rd giving the car its 2nd major podium since its introduction. In the truggy class it was Kyosho racer Cody King that took home the top honours finishing ahead of 2nd placed Taylor James driving a Jammin truggy with Adam Drake finishing in third with his Losi truggy. The 1/10th stadium truck class honours went to Losi driver Mike Truhe once more, finishing in front of current ROAR class champion Jared Tebo with Ryan Maifield bring it home in 3rd, both drivers racing the Associated GT2 truck.

Renaud Savoya wins French Ligue 9 Rd1

Mugen MBX-5R racer Renaud Savoya has won the first round of the Ligue 9 regional championships for 1/8th scale gas off road held last weekend at the club de Charmes sur Rhône. 70 racers were in attendance and it was Guillaume Reynier that took the top qualifying spot for the 20 minute final, but it was Savoya that could take the lead and eventually win the race by 1 lap ahead of Reynier who ended up 2nd, with Marc Milleret finishing 3rd.

West Australia State Championships

West Australia State Championships

Our mates down under, Rube Dude, are reporting on the Western Australian State Championships that have been run over the past few days. In the buggy class it was Hong Nor driver Zac Ryan that took the pole spot for the final and went on to win by 2 laps ahead of 2nd Dale Smulders driving a Kyosho with another Hong Nor of Martin Wolhuter in 3rd. In the truggy class it was again Hong Nor at the top with Martin Wolhuter taking the win in dominant style, 6 laps ahead of 2nd placed Logan Bruecher with Brad Smith ending the race in 3rd.

Drake TQs Pro Buggy at Silver State NC

Silver State Nitro Challenge

Adam Drake continues his great form from Fridays qualifying, where he TQ’d in truggy and qualified 2nd in 1/10th truck, to take TQ spot for Sundays Pro Buggy class at the Silver State Nitro Challenge. The Losi driver out paced Jared Tebo who was racing the new O’Donnell buggy, that we showed you a while back, took the 2nd position after qualifying with, 1/10th truck pole man, Mike Truhe for Team Losi lining up in 3rd. Jason Ashton is doing a great job for the new Spanish made Sidorf, qualifying in 4th for Sundays final.

Truhe and Drake TQ at Silver State NC

Silver State Nitro Challenge

Qualifying for the 1/10th truck and truggy classes at this years Silver State Nitro Challenge, that takes place in Nevada this week, are over and it was Losi drivers Mike Truhe and Adam Drake that took the TQ spot in the their respective classes. In the 1/10th truck, Truhe was the class of the field claiing top spot, with 2 of the 3 rounds of qualifying to count, and could finish ahead of 2nd placed team mate Adam Drake with Travis Amezcua in 3rd. In the truggy class, it was a reverse of the top 2 in 1/10th with Drake taking the top spot ahead of Truhe, with Kyosho driver Cody King in 3rd. Buggy qualifying will be run today (Saturday) with all top mains run on Sunday.

TTech Racing release details about X11

Some time ago we told you wrote about the fact that TTech Racing, the makers of the cool looking X10, had been bought by Xtreme-RC. Well now we see the first fruits of that new arrangement with the announcement that the X11 4wd electric buggy, the follow up to the X10, will be released at the end of April. The list of new features was published on the companies site and from what we have read the new cars looks to have better durability, performance and should look great too.

New Kyosho big bore shock absorbers

Our mate Phil, over at the Neo Buggy Industries, has the first exclusive shots of the all new big bore shock absorbers for the Kyosho inferno. These shocks have been seen on the cars of Yuichi Kanai and Cody King at this weeks Silver State race, but World Champ Mark Pavidis didnt get a set, and by the looks of them they are in the pre production stage of development. For those techies out there i can inform you that the new shocks have an outside body diameter of 18mm with an inner diameter of 16mm and the pistons currently have 4 holes.
