Above is a great video biography of top US racer, 2007 Silver State Champ and World Championship finalist, Mugen racer Scott Hughes. This video is a produced in association with the US Pro Cup and the Dirt Racing and gives a great insight into the life of this top driver who also works for Pro Line, in their Marketing department.
This weekend sees the first big international electric off road race of the year, the 21st Annual Cactus Classic race that is taking place at Scottsdale RC Speedway in Arizona. Qualifying is over and its the Ryans that are topping the timing sheets in the modified classes with Associated drivers Ryan Maifield taking the TQ spot in truck mod ahead of Ryan Cavalieri in 2nd and current ROAR National class champion Jared Tebo in 3rd. In buggy mod its Cavalieri that has taken the pole spot ahead of Tebo in 2nd, with Japanese legend Masami Hirosaka driving for Yokomo in 3rd while In 2wd buggy mod its a repeat of the top 3 in truck with Maifield in the pole followed by Cavalieri and Tebo in 2nd and 3rd with British driver, and current World Champion, Neil Cragg in 4th. Racing takes place today, Sunday, and we hope to bring you the results when we get them.

A few months ago we showed you images of the new BX-1 1/8th scale buggy from Italian company Blade Racing, well now they have announced the first team drivers for this car. Italians Gianluca D’Orazio and Francesco Ciriello have both agreed to race the car for the coming season and will form the official team that will represent the marque at major races.

Yokomo have announced the release of a Factory version of their higly successful MR4-BX that comes pack with loads of nice new optional parts. Whats different between the Factory version and normal, previously available, version is that this comes with a new slick looking bodyshell for better overall stability, improvements to the drivetrain (my Japanese isnt good so hard to be specific), new harder material drive shafts, new drive belts, a new rear upper deck, coated shock absorber pistons and more. As far as i understand its available now.

Team Losi have just announced the release of their new Mini LST-2 Monster Truck RTR, which is a 1/18th scale version of the companies larger LST monster truck. Further extending their range of pre glued tires for off road racing, Pro-Line have added both the M3 Bow Ties and M3 Crime Fighter tires to their already large range of pre mounts. Both tire types come on either white or yellow Pro-Line Velocity dish wheels, use firm inserts and are a great time saving product, plus lets face it no one likes gluing tires so that alone is worth the investment.

Back at the start of February we reported on these new pre painted bodyshells from Pro-Line when they were briefly shown in Germany, at the Nürnberg Toy fair, well now these bodies have been released along with the full information about them. Suitable for a number of cars including the Kyosho Inferno, Xray XB8 / Mugen MBX5 as well as a number of Monster trucks, they come pre screened (not pre cut) with a tribal design leaving you to just back the body with your favourite colour and its ready to race – no masking, no mess and no rubbish one colour paint jobs.

Pro Line have released these 2 new Cavalieri Edition Crowd Pleazer body shells for the Team Associated GT2 (above) and T4 cars. While the specifics of what is so good about these new bodies over previous versions isn’t clear, we think it may be just some small cosmetic changes, although i find it difficult to see much difference between this version and the non Cavalieri version.
Ryan Cavalieri combines his years of gas off-road experience with the finesse of Pro-Line’s product development team to produce a body that goes beyond the traditional Crowd Pleazer design. “Design makes a huge difference in the handling of the 1:10 off-road truck believe it or not. The design was developed to enhance the handling characteristics of the GT2,†says Ryan.
