Rush 2 Suspension & ground clearance

Piktor Rush 2 ground clearance

Possibly in an effort to detract the doubters that their laydown type suspension allows the Rush 2 to handle ruts and jumps as well as conventional shock mountings, Piktor have released a little interactive flash movie on their site that shows how the clearance of the car relates to compression of the shock absorbers. According to the interactive animation the Rush 2 should have no problems in that department and if you dont beleive me, have a look for yourself.

Ellis Stafford joins Nosram

Ellis Stafford Nosram

Top European off road racer Ellis Stafford has signed to use Nosram electrics in his cars for 2007. Having only recently signed to X-Factory, the 2005 European 4wd Champion has made a complete equipment switch for next year which will see him race the UK Nationals, Belgian GP as well as the World and European Championships.

Stafford won his first BRCA National buggy event in his first year of competition on the circuit, and took the buggy title both in 1996 and again in 2000. He has a total of 27 National wins, among the most of any active driver, placing him second on the all-time win list. He’s also won the European Championship twice in 4WD, 1992 with a Kyosho and 2005 with a Losi.

Losi XXX-CR Illuzion body from JConcepts

Another body from JConcepts and another Illuzion, this time for the Electric 2wd buggy, the Losi XXX-CR. This particular body comes with 3 wings in total, one 6″ rear wing, one 7″ rear wing and a front wing also. So you should have no problem hooking your Losi up when you have this body on, plus it looks super mean too.

The high down force 6″ rear wing is for added rear stability and the high down force 7″ rear wing is for super rear stability. The Illuzion front wing is for added front stability. The Illuzion body features hard edge side pod styling with runners on the sides designed to move the air more efficiently to the wing. The roof of the body has been dramatically wedged and Illuzionized for that aggressive look.

Another addition to the Illuzion range from JConcepts is this Mugen MBX5R bodyshell. Available in either standard or heavy duty polycarbonate this new shell not only looks the part but performs too.

The Illuzion features enhanced hard edge side pod styling with runner flow channels on the sides designed to move the air more efficiently to the wing. The roof of the body has been dramatically wedged and Illuzionized for that aggressive look. While the front of the body has less of a transition from hood to window which gives it a more dramatic look.

Ryan Cavalieri dominates the Southwest Indoor Grand Prix

In absolutely commanding style, top Team Orion racer Ryan Cavalieri showed everyone that he was the class of the field at last weekends Southwest Indoor GP in Arizona by TQ’ing all 3 classes he competed in and then going on to win all 3 as well. On top of that the top drivers from the event were put together for a showdown race called the Pro Challenge and Ryan won this too to take 4 wins in the one weekend.

Team Orion factory driver and off-road superstar Ryan Cavalieri was on hand to compete against some of the Nationâ€™s best. Ryan competed in all three modified classes (2wd,Truck, 4wd), and by the end of practice, it was clear RC was the man to beat.

Team Magic M1B to make race debut this week

The much talked about and much hyped M1B buggy from Team Magic will finally make its race debut this weekend at the Neo Invitational race. The car above is from CML who received a pre-production version for the race and has already shook down the car with ~~an undisclosed~~ top UK racer David Crompton. His thoughts from the shakedown:

He pronounced himself really impressed with the car’s performance and is looking forward to racing the car at the this weekend’s NeoBuggy International at the Harper Adams track in Shropshire.

According to the entry list from the event, Finnish racer Jari Eklund will also race a Team Magic at the event, so there should be at least 2 pre-production cars at the event. We will see how they get on and lets hope it lives up to all the hype.

Adam Drake wins the 2006 Fall Brawl

Adam Drake wins the Fall Brawl

Top US off roader, Adam Drake, has dominated the 2006 Fall Brawl held at the Badlands III track in South Carolina. Adam, driving for Team Losi, TQ’d all 3 rounds of qualifying in both the Truck and Buggy class and then went on to easily win both classes.
