Coelho extends advantage to top 4WD seeding at EOS

Bruno Coelho extended his advantage over his rivals in the final round of practice at the Nurburgring to secure the top seeding for 4WD at the Euro Offroad Series season opener.  Having set an impressive pace in CP1, topping that run from Michal Orlowski, the Xray driver would go over 2/10ths quicker extending his gap over the Schumacher driver, who didn’t improve, to over 6/10th over 3-laps.  Summing up his commanding start to the weekend, the reigning champion said ‘it’s all perfect’.  Behind Orlowski, Lee Martin would improve to the third quickest time ahead of Coelho’s team-mate Martin Wollanka with Marc Rheinard, another who failed to improve dropping from 3rd to 5th.

Coelho heads time in first 4WD practice

Bruno Coelho has topped the times for the first round of 4WD controlled practice at the Euro Offroad Series season opener.  Back at the Nurburgring where he made his EOS debut 12-months ago before going on to be champion, the Xray driver had almost a 4/10ths advantage over his rivals over the 3-consecutive lap times that will determine the seeding for qualifying.  Closest to the winner of the last three 4WD EOS encounters would be Michal Orlowski, the Schumacher driver the only one able to match Coelho’s 18-second fastest lap pace. A sizeable gap back, Yokomo’s Marc Rheinard would complete the Top 3 followed by team-mate Lee Martin and Xray’s Martin Bayer.

EFRA 40+ On-road European Championships – Report

The EFRA 40+ On-roaad European Championships were recently held in Hamm, Germany. In the 1/8th scale class it was last year’s winner Luca Martinelli (ARC) who saw the checkered flag in first position after delivering a flawless performance. The battle for the remaining podium spots was wide open between Shepherd colleagues Arie Manten, Andreas Giesa and Frank Schewiola. A few minutes before the end Andreas had a crash at the end of the straight caused by a piece of chunked tyre that saw him dropping him down the order. In the closing stages Frank tried to hunt down Arie but he ran out of time. Arie took the runner-up spot with Frank completing the podium. TQ Michael Salven had to retire early after he had a moment and damaged his car.

Orlowski sets pace at EOS season opener

Orlowski sets pace at EOS season opener

Michal Orlowski has set the pace for the first controlled practice at the Euro Offroad Series season opener at the Nurburgring.  With the track needing to be tweaked after each of the opening two free practice runs this morning, the Schumacher driver would lay down the fastest 3-consecutive lap time for the first of the two practice rounds that will determine the seeding of 2WD qualifying heats.  Super close at the top of the time sheets, Orlowski would be just .0001 of a second faster than reigning Champion Lee Martin with Martin Wollanka completing the Top 3 ahead of Neil Cragg.

Redworkshop roll tuning shorty LiPo weights

Redworkshop roll tuning shorty LiPo weights

Redworkshop from France have introduced two under LiPo tuning weights that help to adjust the chassis roll by offering two different designs. At 2mm thickness the plates weigh in at 43g with the dual cutout variant making for a more centralised weight distribution while the single cutout version shifts the mass to the outer parts for increased chassis roll without the need to change roll centres or ride height. The weights are designed for the use with transversal battery layouts but they can also be used, without the chassis roll feature, with inline batteries too.
