US Indoor Champs, Qualifying update after Rd2

US Indoor Champs Track

Just a quick update after 2 completed rounds at the US Indoor Champs in Cleveland. Paul Lemieux is currently TQ for the 1/10th Modified class, having a close battle wit Mike Dumas for the top spot. Whilst in the 1/12th Masters class, its Mr. CRC himself, Frank Calandra just holding on to the top spot with Kelly Bean only 4 tenths behind after 8 minutes. Jeff Dayger and Andrew Ellis easily head up the 1/12th 19Turn and 1/12th Stock classes respectively. More action today and we will bring you the final qualifying spots when we get them.

Frank Root joins the X-Factory team

X-Factory have announced that they have signed US racer Frank Root to race their products. Already in his first race, the first round of the SRZ AZ State Championship, Frank who was driving the X-5 buggy set the fastest overall lap time of the day on his way to third position at the event.

Jerome Aigoin joins Sirio

Our partner site Neo-Buggy have the official word that French driver Jerome Aigoin, brother of European Champion Yannick, has signed for the Italian company Sirio to race its engines. Jerome, who left HaoBao for Kyosho recently, has left behind his partnership with Picco to join the ranks of Sirio elite like Bertin, Kanai and Reckward.

RC Pro Series Nitro Off Road awards Banquet

The title says it all, the RC Pro Series had their awards banquet for the Nitro Off Road Series and here are the photos. As you can see Tebo and Taylor were there, amongst others, but i don’t see Adam Drake in any of the banquet photos, so lucky we already have a picture of him with his championship winning trophies.

Now i normally don’t post links to product builds or reviews because i like Red RC to be more of a news source but in this case we’ll make an exception. Jimmey Storey over at oOple.com has done and amazingly detailed review of the new X-Factory X-6 2wd conversion kit. 2006 French Champions Cup

Last weekend saw the 2006 French Champions Cup run on a large indoor carpet track in Neuville-De-Poitou. The 4wd event was won by top qualifier, 2006 French National Champion, Vincent HÃ©ligoin with Jean-FranÃ§ois CavÃ© in 2nd and Carl Maignien back in third, whilst in 2wd it was Olivier Demontfumat who took the win ahead of JÃ©rÃ´me PourÃ© and National Champion Arnaud Collet in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Simon Reeves wins Rd1 Stotfold Winter Series

Simon Reeves, driving a Team Losi XXX4 buggy, has totally dominated round 1 of the Stotfold Winter Series, held last weekend. Having TQ’d the event Simon went on to win all 3 of his finals to take the round win and the lead in the championship.

Qualifying was dominated by Simon Reeves with his Peak powered XX4. Taking all 5 rounds of qualifying In an impressive fashion Simon was the only driver to make 13 laps. Second on the grid was Alec Springer who had been pushed all-day by the chasing pack of James Evans and Richard Ralph.

Adam Drake takes RC Pro Series truck and buggy titles

More RC Pro Series news, this time its the turn of the off road guys or in this case, guy, as top international racer Adam Drake took the title in both the Buggy and Truck classes. In the 1/8th buggy class, he edged out Futaba Nitro Challenge winner Taylor James and Chad Bradley to the title whilst in 1/10th truck Adam beat Kyle Skidmore and Cody King to the series title.
