ST Racing Concepts have introduced a new option part for Axial’s SCX10 II off-road vehicle in the form of aluminium steering knuckles. Precision CNC-machined from high-quality aluminium, the steering knuckles greatly improves the durability of truck’s front axle and steering response, while adding visual impact at the same time. The parts come in parts and are available in black, gun metal, red and silver anodising.
Round two of the Asian Onroad Championship was held down in Australia this last weekend. 170 drivers from mainly Australia took part in the event presented by legendary race organiser Scotty Ernst. Antoni Caretti won both the 13.5T Stock class and the Modified title with Tom De Nardis and Chris Stack filling up the podium in 13.5T and Ryan Maker and Jeffrey Mackie completing the top 3 in Modified.

The forthcoming Traction 2016 series, held at Swifts Raceway, is a rebirth of the Autumn Shootout Championship which became an instant success last year. The series is open to racers of all abilities and for all four 12 section classes like GT12, F1, WGT10 and LMP12. It will be the perfect championship to set up both car and racer for the up and coming BRCA LMP and GT Nationals. The 4-round series is run to the same professional standard as last year, just like the national rounds the club have hosted at Swifts in the past. More details and booking in is available here.
Coming from T-Works and made for Kyosho’s Optima re-release buggy is a gold-plated steel screw set. It includes a total of 90 countersunk, button head and cap head fasteners to add some bling to Kyosho’s iconic 1/10th 4WD buggy without compromising strength.

French company RC Concept have introduced their all-new MC3R nitro off-road engine. Building on the MC5R the MC3R offers a smoother powerband and better fuel consumption, making it an ideal all-round engine. The hand-assembled power plant comes with a new carburettor for improved runtime and more mid-range power, it features a matching sleeve and piston, a silicone-filled and balanced crankshaft, rear ceramic bearing and it comes including a new 8mm as well as a 7mm venturi insert. Included with the engine, that sports a new silver-colour cooling head with for improved temperature management, also comes a #5 RC Concept glowplug.

During last week’s 2016 EFRA 1/10th Electric Off-road European Championships in Valladolid, Spain, it was Xray’s Malin Karlsen to take the 4WD Junior Championship title. With stunning drives in the A-mains she would come out 7th behind her highly experienced Xray team mates Martin Wollanka and Martin Bayer. Beating Team Associated’s Joona Haatanen, who finished 9th in the A-main, as well as leaving JQRacing/PR’s Max Mört behind won her the 2016 Junior title.

Round four of the Malaysia National League was held in Kulim State, Northern Malaysia with about 60 entries for the Pro and Semi-Pro 1/8th Nitro Buggy classes. In the Pro Buggy A-main event, Kelvin Yong (Xray) would take the win from Danny Kato (Tekno) and Danny Teh (Tekno). The Kyosho duo of BH Gan and Loon Lee rounded out the top 5 result.
Tamiya have announced the soon release of the 2016 Blackfoot 1/10th scale 2WD truck kit. The re-release of the original 1986 Blackfoot features a number of upgrades while still keeping that oldschool appearance and so the vehicle sports a 4-wheel independent suspension design with a front double wishbone and rear trailing arm setup, the kit comes with CVA shock absorbers as well as rear universal driveshafts for improved reliability, efficiency and power supply. Part of the kit are also yellow wheels with chevron-tread tyres and also the Blackfoot’s iconic pick-up truck bodyshell. The ’16 kit will become available by mid-September.
