Coming from Vigor and made for the Yokomo BD7-2016 touring car is a carbon fibre bulkhead spacer set. The plates allow to raise the front and rear bulkheads as well as the motor mount to give slightly improved flex which can be beneficial in certain track conditions. The set includes four 1.0mm and 1.5mm lower bulkhead spacers as well as two 1.0mm and four 1.5mm lower motor mount spacers, all made from high-quality carbon fibre.
Serpent have released a starter pack for the Cobra SRX8 1/8th scale buggy containing several useful items. The “first aid” pack features useful spare and option parts such as extra springs and anti-roll bars of various sizes as well as replacement ballcups and front and rear A-arms with inserts. Tamiya have introduced their new portable pit backpack II. The lightweight, tough polyester backpack was originally designed for Mini 4WD race meetings, and it can carry a portable pit along with other Mini 4WD essentials but it is also good for mini-size RC cars and other applications. The pocket on either side is made from mesh, and each is able to hold a 500ml drink bottle. In addition to the main zippered compartment of the backpack, the top is fitted with a handy pocket of its own, also zipper-fastened. Comfort is assured by the two adjustable bag side compression belts, plus a belt to go around the chest and ensure that the backpack remains stable. Metal zippers are equipped with Tamiya logo sliders, while the bag’s contents are cushioned by a pad at the bottom of the interior which can be folded out into a floor sheet for use at the Mini 4WD race venue. Available in black with a choice of red or blue trim, each bag displays the Tamiya twin star logo.
The 2016 EFRA 1/5th scale European Championships were held in Bologna, Italy last week and in the 30-minute main final it was Belgium’s Giovanni Verbrugghe who walked away with the win. Verbrugghe snatched the runner-up spot from Ales Bayer, who suffered from changing weather conditions, while Italy’s Lamberto Collari controlled the pace on the front end of the pack. Pole position holder Patrick Folman was out of the title race following several off-track experiences and another prominent victim of unplanned off-road excursions was leader Lamberto who spun out in the closing stages of the final, promoting Giovanni Verbrugghe into the lead that he would hold onto until the checkered flag to take the 2016 European Championship title from Lamberto Collari while Patrick Folman was able to recover to third overall.

Team C have introduced carbon fibre shock towers for the GT8 line of 1/8th on-road kits. Machined from high-quality carbon fibre the parts offer multiple shock and camber link positions and they are a direct replacement for the stock shock stays. The towers are available separately for the front and rear and they are usable on the GT8, GT8L and GT8LE.

Japanese company SMJ have introduced a new carbon fibre main chassis plate for the Xray T4’16, new 25mm touring car springs as well as a multi-purpose body repair tape. Starting with the chassis, the part is cut from high-quality Japan-made 2.3mm carbon fibre and it is of a symmetrical design with a mirrored motor pocket underneath the battery compartment for equal left-to-right flex characteristics. The part is usable on both asphalt and carpet tracks and it is available now.
Coming from ST Racing Concepts is a range of aluminium option parts for Axial’s all-new SCX10 II off-road kit. First in a growing range are CNC machined rear lock-outs, front and rear heavy duty bumper mounts and lower shock/suspension link mounting blocks, as well as drivetrain improving CNC machined driveshaft splines. The highly precise parts not only enhancce visual impact but also add a bit more desirable overall weight to the vehicle, improving its stability over the trails. As usual the parts are available in a range of colours with more options to come very soon.
The city of Prague in the Czech Republic will host the inaugural Junior World Championships from the 3rd to 7th of August. Organised by the newly founded International Youth RC Models Association IYRCA in cooperation with the Pan European Society for Culture, Education and Scientific & Technical Cooperation, the Car Modeling Association of China, the RC Car Club Czech Republic as well as the International Federation of Model Auto Racing IFMAR, the event is especially aimed at young RC car drivers. The race will be held under the patronage of IFMAR’s Dallas Mathiesen, who will be present throughout the week, and it will see the running of four different classes including Touring Stock, Touring Modified, Formula Modified 17.5T/21.5T and 1/14th scale Touring Stock. 1/10th Touring Stock will be the premier category with the class seeing the use of hand-out kits and electronics that can be purchased and kept for a symbolic entry fee of 20 Euro including a set of GQ28R tyres. 1/14th scale is again a hand-out class while Touring Modified and Formula Modified, the latter run with open rubber tyres, 17.5T to 21.5T motors and blinky ESCs, will require the drivers to bring their own equipment. The Stock classes are run solely as Under 13 and Under 19 categories while in the Modified classes additionally see open age categories if required.
