Losi Promoto MX 1:4 Motocross RTR

Losi has come out with this pretty cool RTR RC 1:4 Motocross bike, the Promoto-MX.   The iconic America brand claim that it is the very first one scale RC motorcycle that accurately reproduces the full experience and pure fun of riding a real motorcycle.  Availble in three livery options, the unprecedented realism of the Promoto-MX goes much deeper than its faithfully detailed looks — the narrow frame, rider gear, and officially licensed graphics. Even more impressive is how successfully it captures true dirt bike performance, a breakthrough accomplished through a unique hybrid of mechanical and electronic technology developed specifically for the Promoto-MX. It’s how these technologies work together that makes all the difference.

OfficinaRC ‘Smart Body Tuck – Click Ball Connect’

OfficinaRC has released their new ‘Smart Body Tuck – Click Ball Connect’ body stiffener solution.   In recent years, body stiffeners have become an almost essential accessory for those who want to use lightweight car bodies.  These stiffeners, thanks to their reduced weight, allow ultralight bodies to maintain their aerodynamic shape while driving.  OfficinaRC chose to call it “Smart” because it solves one of the most common issues associated with bodies featuring a Body Tuck: space.  It is often challenging to stack these bodies.  With the use of a carbon fibre rod with two aluminium balls at each end, attaching and removing the stiffeners, whether for stacking bodies or observing their performance on the track with or without stiffeners, will be a breeze.  The two aluminium ball joints, made from black anodised aluminium, fit perfectly into the appendages.  The appendages, 3D-printed using a resin mixture, ensure impeccable details and excellent resistance to removal and insertion.  Each stiffener comes with numbered appendages (1 and 2) that allow you to choose which side to leave exposed for detachment.  The Smart Body Tuck is incredibly lightweight, weighing only 1.45 grams per pair, and it comes with ultra-thin pre-cut 3M VHB adhesive for maximum adhesion.  It fits on all touring cars, both for side stiffeners and rear wheel arches, and it is compatible with FWD bodies.

Yokomo BDFWD Front Wheel Drive Touring Car

Yokomo has announced its new 1:10 Front Wheel Drive Touring Car contender, the Master Speed DBFWD.   The car has evolved to the latest specifications, equipped with graphite suspension arms, which are the mainstream today, and a thoroughly lowered centre of gravity.  The kit’s standard aluminium main chassis and redesigned front section provide outstanding stability despite the heavy front section. The low centre of gravity shock tower, short shocks, small diameter spur gears and new motor mounts result in a thoroughly low centre of gravity, which, combined with the low-mounted stabiliser in the front, enables high-speed cornering.  In the rear, R.T.C. rear toe control is standard equipment, making it easy to obtain turning characteristics suited to the course layout, reducing understeer that is common in FWD machines, and improving time through sharp cornering.

Yokomo RO1.0 Ready to Run Set

Following the release of its new entry level Rookie Offroad RO1.0 1:10 Buggy back in March, Yokomo has now added a Ready to Run Set version to make the platform even more appealing to hobby newcomers.  The chassis is pre-assembled, and the latest 2.4GHz transmission/reception system, brushless motor, and lithium polymer battery are pre-installed while maintaining the highly popular driving performance.  Everything is pre-adjusted, so it is an RTR model that can be driven immediately by simply charging the driving battery with the included charger after opening the package.  The operability is enough to impress even expert drivers, and the specs are of a standard suitable to race.  Although it is aimed at beginners, it can be used for a long time as a machine for racing with many optional parts already so you can freely tune it to your needs.

TLR 22 5.0 optional chassis & 22X-4 Driveshaft Bones

Team Losi Racing has released a number of new options for their competition 1:10 Buggy chassis offerings.  First up are two optional chassis for the 22 5.0 2WD Buggy which come in +4mm and +7mm longer versions.  The +4mm longer chassis will make the buggy smoother and less twitchy on entry, carry more mid-corner speed, and have more on power steering, but still have enough grip for clay surfaces.  A prototype of the +4mm chassis was used by Dakotah Phend to win the 2022 ROAR Dirt Nationals and is the race teams’ choice for dirt and clay tracks.  The +7mm chassis creates the perfect length for carpet and astro turf surfaces to produce good consistent lap times.  It is very smooth on entry, great mid-corner rolling speed, and increased on power steering for surfaces with very high traction like carpet and astro. Phend took the 2022 ROAR Carpet Nationals using a prototype of the chassis.  Both chassis are CNC machined from 2.0mm 7075-T6 aluminium, milled for weight reduction and optimised flex characteristics, then hard anodised for wear resistance and protection.
