Dominic Quek successful at Urban Touring Series Rd7

Round seven of Singapore’s Urban Touring Series was held the past weekend.  After coming close the last couple of rounds, Xray’s Dominic Quek finally claimed his first win of the season in the Open Class. The Reedy-race format was adopted due to the smaller than normal turnout. Nonetheless, then usual fast racers were in attendance. It was a hard fought race between Dominic and Esmail Apandi (Destiny), with both taking two wins and two second place finishes each in the best four of five finals format. In the end, Dominic secured the win on tie-break by virtue of his faster winning times. Hasron Robana (Xray) took the win in the last final to secure 3rd overall.

2016 Texas Electric On–Road Series Rd3 – Report

2016 Texas Electric On–Road Series Rd3 – Report

After a month delay due to torrential weather in Texas, round 3 of 4 of the Texas Electric On–Road Series was held at Hobbytown USA in Austin, Texas this past Sunday. 60 entries would be present between the six classes for some classic grass–roots parking lot racing. Qualifying points from the driver’s best two out of three qualifying rounds would be used to setup the single mains. There was 2 bump–ups from each lower main. The off–camber track and extremely hot conditions would develop a push for most cars, causing drivers to search for steering and rotation. Mod TC would be a continued showdown from round 2 between Brandon McNally and Chris Adams. McNally would earn TQ on his home track by winning two rounds of qualifying over Chris Adams and Andrew Doherty. In the main, a small mistake, clipping a flapper on lap 4, by McNally would let Adams through. From the lead, Adams was able to pull a gap and maintain the lead to the checkered flag over McNally and Kemper. Adams third win of the season results in clinching the Mod TC championship for the 4th year in a row.

The two clamping screws which secure the mount are easily accessible from above, not obstructed by the shock tower. The block is available in black and hard anodise colour.

Russ Bryant & Paul Sinclair win at THE Series Rd2

The second round of THE Series was held at 710 Raceway in Okemos, Michigan. It was a long day, with racing starting at 9 AM and trophies around 11 PM. The track normally hosts 1/8th scales, and even though the crew had cut out the two big back jumps, a fast lap in Mod Buggy was 30 seconds. The track was bumpy and, as usual for Midwestern outdoor tracks with lots of sun and a nice breeze, watering was necessary. The whoops section was difficult at the beginning, and as the surface began to deteriorate the fast line through it disappeared. Russ Bryant started the day off by TQing all three rounds of Mod Stadium Truck qualifying. He then ran away with the main, leading wire-to-wire.
