Tommy Hall does double at Scotty Ernst UK Showdown

The Scotty Ernst UK Showdown saw Tommy Hall do the buggy double at the inaugural running of the 1:10 Offroad event.  The famed American race announcer brought his Showdown to the UK’s legendary Robin Hood Raceway where the astro turf track played to its advantage with any rain not stopping play at the Schumacher Racing supported event.  Capitalising on the British Bank Holiday weekend, the 3-day event saw Sunday’s main action decide the 2WD Champion with the 4WD and Stadium Truck battles fought on Monday.  In 2WD Buggy, it was Team Associated’s Tommy Hall who took the TQ before the former European Champion went on to win the final ahead of the Schumacher pairing of Ben Smith and Lee Martin.  In 4WD, it was the second of the Hall brother’s Jamie who would TQ ahead of Martin with Tommy P3 after four rounds.  In the triple finals however it was Tommy, the newly crowned British National Champion, who took the first two A-Mains to completed the perfect weekend with Jamie securing P2 with the win in A3 as Martin again completed the podium in third.  In Stadium Truck the finals produced three different winners with 2WD Buggy runner-up Smith taking the overall victory from Martin for a Schumacher 1-2 ahead of Jamie and Tommy Hall.

JConcepts Spring box double decker w/foam liner

JConcepts has introduced this spring box to assist racer the organisation of their spring selection.  The double decker design stores up to 18 pairs of springs plus 2 added compartments on each layer for miscellaneous items.  The injection molded box itself has been in the JConcepts line-up for years assisting in motor and battery storage with a nice closure and stealth black colour combination.  The box now makes a nice and tidy space with high density foam layered with compartmentalised section and blue floor space to aid in a visual cue to identify springs quickly.  The package includes a decal for the inside of the lid for the racer to write in notes, combinations, spring rate and type, to further trackside organisation.  The spring box is ideal for 1:10 off-road, and on-road racers looking to tuck away their setup secrets and keep them protected in style.

Rêve D HT Rear Lower arm

Drifting brand Rêve D has introduced their new HT rear lower arm for improved rear traction.  The HT rear lower arm, which is machined from lightweight and highly rigid DURACON (POM) material, achieves a highly precise finish and dramatically smooth suspension movement.  There are two lengths, 42mm and 45mm.  In addition to the caster angle of 0 degrees, the 42mm has a caster angle of 2.6 degrees with an inclination on the outer pin side.  As a unique feature, the 42mm and 45mm arms with a caster angle of 0 degrees adopt a reversible structure, and two types of damper mounting heights can be selected by exchanging the left and right.  The 42mm caster 2.6 degrees type can increase traction without hindering the sinking of the suspension by tilting the knuckle forward without adding a skid angle.  Rêve D recommend using it in combination with the recently announced long type suspension mounts.

SMJ Kabuto Spec 3 silencer

Kabuto, the engine brand from Japan’s SMJ, has released two new tuned silencer sets for 1:8 and 1:10 Onroad competition.   For 1:8, the new silencer set is perfectly matched for the Kabuto 7 port engine which shows responsive characteristics to throttle input. The overall shape of the silencer has been thickened to increase power in the mid to high speed range.  In addition, the combination of the straight type MR03 manifold dramatically improves pickup at higher RPMs and allows the driver to experience overwhelming power from low speeds to the top end of the range.  For 1:10 the Kabuto silencer is known for its top-end power.  Based on the O.S. Speed T1070C, the high performance and reliability of the T1070C has been retained, while the MT03 manifold, which has a new shape and greatly improves exhaust efficiency, has been combined with the T1070C to bring out a higher level of power across the entire throttle range.  You will be able to feel the outstanding throttle feeling not only on high-speed circuits with long straights, but also on technical circuits.
