Christopher Krapp wins at maiden Schumacher outing

The third round of the North German electric off-road regionals was held at the astro turf track in Celle, located between Hamburg and Hanover. In the 2WD class, new Schumacher recruit Christopher Krapp would sweep the qualifiers by taking wins in all three rounds. From the pole position he then also dominated the triple A-mains, taking convincing wins, leaving Team C’s Sebastian Honscha and SWorkz driver Yannil Wilcke behind in second and third respectively.

Loran Whiting teams up with Serpent

Loran Whiting teams up with Serpent

Serpent have announced the signing of female U.S. racer, Loran Whiting to their team. Loran will focus on 1/10th scale nitro and electric racing but she will also campaign Serpent’s 1/8th on-road cars and 1/10th buggies at selected events. The former Capricorn racer had the following to say about the deal:

 I am incredibly lucky and thankful to be given the opportunity to race with Serpent. They are a world-class company with a great team. I am confident that we will be successful and I am looking forward to all of the great and fun times!  Thank you to Ronald, Michael, Stef, and Paolo for the support!

MCD Racing Dirt-Xross large scale tyres

Turkish company MCD Racing have introduced their all-new Dirt-Xross tyres for large scale off-road cars. Specially developed for compact gravel tracks the heavy-duty design offers increased sidewall protection and wear resistance and thanks to a more dense tread packing the tyre offers increased traction at a reasonable wear rate. Like the recently introduced Micro-Stud V2 tyre, the Dirt-Xross will also feature MCD Racing’s new internal webbing structure and it is available in the ultra-grip blue compound.

New from Ruddog come universal tyre glueing bands. The well-thought-out length allows to use these bands both on 1/10th and 1/8th tyres with the increased width of 25mm not only applying force on the carcass but also the whole tread. This ensures proper tyre fitment on the rim and thus a precise and reliable glueing job. The red-colour bands come Ruddog-branded and in packs of four.

Xray develop XB8 GT 1/8th nitro GT car

Xray are currently developing a XB8-based 1/8th GT nitro on-road car. The prototype already made a first public appearance at the recent EFRA 1/8th GT Euros where the car finished on the runner-up spot in the hands of Fabio Callegari, behind new European Champion Toni Santana Yanes. No official images are available yet beside a couple of body-on podium photos. We bring you more information as soon as they surface.

Revolution Design RP Ultra heat shield tape

New from Revolution Design Racing Products comes the Ultra heat shield tape, a special woven structure tape for the use in a variety of applications. The structure makes for ultra-high rigidity that is further upped by a foam-padded support layer. Overall the tape is nearly 1mm thick, making for exceptional protection against both heat and mechanical impacts. The extra-flexible tape is ideal to keep nitro fuel tanks from expanding due to exhaust heat, it keeps body shells from melting when applied from the inside and it also is usable to repair damaged body shells or to keep them from breaking. The tape comes in 100cm rolls and it is available now.

Alessio Menicucci wins Italian Outdoor Modified TC title

The recent 2016 UISP Italian National Outdoor Championship was held at the Ca’ de Mandorli track in San Lazzaro di Savena, Italy. Unsteady weather conditions made things pretty eventful and in the Touring Modified class, it was Xray’s Alessio Menicucci who made the best out of the conditions, taking the TQ from Mattia Collina (Xray) and Michele Romagnoli (WRC). After the A-main, the top 3 results would remain the same with Alessio taking the win and the title from runner-up, Mattia with Michele completing the podium result in third. Thanks to the good results Xray also became the manufacturer champion in the Modified class.

Xceed’s popular TH2 tyre heater is now also available with belt-type heat elements. An addition to the cup-style heaters, the belt-type elements come for a range of applications, such as 1/8th GT, 1/8th buggy and also 1/10th touring and formula. The lightweight and easy-to-store elements offer convenient size adjustment  within a certain range, utilising velcro straps, and they are also available separately for current TH2 owners.
