RC Lemans Series Rd5 – Report

RC Lemans Series Rd5 – Report

The MRG Genk track in Belgium played host to the fifth round of the 2016 RC Lemans Series this past weekend. With Europe’s weather playing havoc this Summer, Saturday’s practice only allowed for very limited running and most of the drivers tried to make up lost time early Sunday morning. In the LMP1 Modified class, Tim Altmann was the pre-event favourite thanks to three wins and a third place finish with a second place at round three would be enough to earn him the overall championship early. Another fun fact of the weekend was first time RC Lemans starter, Markus Mobers. The 1/12th scale specialist and former national and European Pro10 champion made his maiden outing with a brushless and LiPo-powered Pro10.

Martin tried to recover and he was even in a distance to attack Claus but after a while the second gear of Martin’s car broke, allowing Claus to take it a bit easier and to bring home the win from Martin on the runner-up spot. Clean Kjellerup would round out the podium while Tom Limkilde and Bo Morten Larsen came in fourth and fifth respectively.

Patrik Pozgaj wins at Croatian Championship Rd2

Patrik Pozgaj wins at Croatian Championship Rd2

Round two of the Croatian Championship was held at the Krapina track with drivers from Slovenia and Croatia in attendance. Very warm weather made things a bit unpleasant at times but overall it was a nice racing day. In the Touring Stock 13.5T class Patrik Pozgaj would grab round TQs in Q1 and Q2, handing him the overall TQ and the pole position for the triple A-mains. To save tyres Patrik then opted to sit out the third and final qualifier. In the opening A-main, Patrik was chased by Zeljko Selman with whom he raced nose to tail for about two minutes until Zeljko made a mistake, allowing Patrik some room to breathe and to cruise to the win. A2 then saw a hard pushing Patrik who was able to open a gap of about 5 seconds to the second placed driver and from there he again was able to take it easy and to bring home the day’s win.
