BRCA Touring Car Nationals Rd2 – Report

BRCA Touring Car Nationals Rd2 – Report

This last weekend saw the BRCA Touring Car Nationals head to Adur near Brighton on the south coast of England. Unusually for the UK the drivers were blessed with great sunshine all weekend and with low winds the track conditions were quite different to the previous weekend’s Schumacher BTCC race. Schumacher’s Elliott Harper was in a different league this weekend TQ-ing the first three rounds of qualifying just using one set of three allocated sets of Sorex 32RY tyres. In Pro Stock James Hart (Schumacher) was taking the fight to current BRCA champ Zak Finlay (Xray) putting in some strong performances to line up second on the grid.

Burak Kilic sweeps North German off-road regionals Rd2

Burak Kilic sweeps North German off-road regionals Rd2

Round two of the North German 1/8th off-road regionals was held in Kiel over the weekend. The race schedule saw practice on Saturday followed by the qualifiers and finals on Sunday and despite a very good track preparation by the club, the track was already pretty beat up after Saturday’s practice. The start of the 30-minute main final, run in pretty hot weather conditions on Sunday afternoon, saw Agama’s Berkan Kilic, coming from the 3 spot on the grid, jumping into the lead while pole position holder Burak Kilic (Agama) dropping back to fourth. But the young man would soon recover to fight for the win in a 3-horse race with his brother as well as Mugen’s Phillip Guschl. Ultimately Burak would grab the win after nice and fair battles with Phillip and Berkan who completed the podium result in second and third respectively.

Thanks to Abdullah Kilic for the report.

Cox carbon tweak rod with bulkhead alignment block

Cox carbon tweak rod with bulkhead alignment block

Cox have introduced the a new touring car chassis tool in the form of the carbon fibre tweak rod with bulkhead alignment block. The design revolves around the bulkhead alignment block that allows to build straight and tweak-free bulkhead assemblies, offing a width of 19mm and 22mm, covering most of today’s touring cars. As the for anti-tweak rod, the 15mm high-quality carbon fibre rods, with cut outs for the spur gear and topdeck screw, are coupled using the alignment block and used like a usual anti-tweak tool but the multi-piece design allows for much easier storage and transportation.

VBC Racing WildfireD08 centre weights & stiff topdeck

VBC Racing WildfireD08 centre weights & stiff topdeck

VBC Racing have introduced two new option parts for the WildfireD08 touring car. First up is the LCG centre balance weight set. Making use of a central 12.5g weight and a second, attachable 18.5g weight the set allows to easily add weight, up to 31g in total, to the centre of the car. The parts run beside and underneath the belt which makes them still easy to reach for swift weight distribution changes. Also new is the stiff upper deck made from a special carbon fibre. Additional carbon layers make for improved torsional rigidity compared to standard carbon fibre, resulting in a stiffer feeling. Still 2mm thick the top deck, marked with a gold-colour dot, is a direct replacement for the stock part and ideal for high-grip asphalt tracks.
