Axial SCX10 II 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4WD kit

Axial have introduced their new SCX10 II 1/10th scale 4WD off-road vehicle. Originally introduced back in 2008 the popular kit now received a make over, keeping the essence of the SCX10 with all-metal twin C-channel frame rails, but that’s only two percent of the 98 percent of a completely new design. The “II” offers scale AR44 high pinion axles, a chassis mounted servo, re-designed transmission, front mounted battery tray, all-aluminium suspension links, and a properly designed suspension for nearly zero bump steer. All this is topped off by a 2000 Jeep Cherokee bodyshell with moulded scale detail parts.

Friday’s practice would be held in dry conditions but arriving on Saturday morning the track was damp, meaning further practice would be delayed a couple of hours. Right in time for the first rounds of practice it started to rain again which meant further delays. As more rain was predicted for Sunday the organisers decided to go ahead with a shortened schedule of one practice round, two qualifiers and shorted sub and main finals to make sure the race could be held on Saturday.
